  • Age Limit: 32 years for UR/EWS, 35 years for OBC, 37 years for SC.
  • Essential Educational Qualification: Ph.D. (Science) submitted in Chemistry / Chemical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualification and/or Experience: Post-doctoral and/or industrial experience / Publications in SCI Journals / Patents in areas such as Electrochemical hydrogen generation, Energy storage systems (Li-ion, Na-ion, Solid state, Redox Flow batteries, supercapacitors), Process development for specialty chemicals & coating techniques (electroplating, electrochemical processes), Electrochemical synthesis of organic molecules, Electrochemical process development for metal extraction, Polymer Membrane development for Electrochemical Energy devices, CO2 Capture, Utilization, Conversion, Storage (CCUS), Electrochemical water treatment processes. Scientist (S2502) - 1 Post (SC-1) [Posting at Mandapam Unit]

  • Age Limit: 37 years for SC.
  • Essential Educational Qualification: Ph.D. (Science) submitted in Chemistry / Chemical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualification and/or Experience: Post-doctoral and/or industrial experience / Publications in SCI Journals / Patents in areas such as Atmospheric corrosion, marine corrosion and electrochemical aspects of corrosion with protection methodologies. Experience in Product Development/Process Development/Technology innovation/Applied Technology/Translational research.
  • Job Requirements: R&D in corrosion monitoring, evaluation, and interpretation of field data, sacrificial anodes, and impressed current cathodic protection systems.

Scientist (S2503) - 3 Posts (UR-2, SC-1)

  • Essential Educational Qualification: M.E/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Technology or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualification and/or Experience: Research and/or industrial experience / Publications in SCI Journals / Patents in areas such as Design, simulation, modelling, experimental studies in electrochemical energy conversion and storage systems (Battery, Fuel Cell, Electrolyser), Development of high throughput catalyst materials/electrode materials/membranes, Electrochemical reactor design/scale-up/process optimization (chemical synthesis, drinking water & wastewater treatment, CO2 Capture), Simulation and analysis of fluid flow/heat transfer/chemical reactions (proficiency in CFD, MATLAB/Python), Techno-economic evaluation and analysis of electrochemical energy storage systems/assessment of resources & storage technologies / AI-ML based process & system design. General Information and Conditions

Benefits under Council Service

  • Posts carry usual allowances (Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TRA)) as admissible to central government employees.
  • Entitlement to accommodation as per CSIR (Residence Allotment) Rules, subject to availability. HRA will not be provided if council or government accommodation is utilized.
  • Reimbursement of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession, and Children's Education Allowances are also available as per CSIR/Govt. of India (GoI) Rules.

  • Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit & Relaxations

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): Reservation as per DOPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt.(Res.), dated 31.01.2019, and other GoI instructions.

Mode of Selection

  • Candidates will be shortlisted by a Screening Committee based on criteria such as: higher educational qualifications, desirable qualifications and/or experience, patents/publications (SCI/Peer Reviewed journals, quality/number/authorship), research specialization/Ph.D discipline, written test/seminar, experience after essential qualifications, or any other methodology deemed fit.
  • Due weightage will be given to candidates with product development/technology innovation/translational research/applied technology experience during the recruitment process.

  • Email ID: Candidates must create and keep active a valid email ID during the entire recruitment process.
  • Application Fee: Rs. 500/-. No fee is payable for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen (relevant documents must be uploaded).
  • Documents Upload: Candidates are required to upload a recent passport size scanned colour photograph, signature, and relevant certificates (e-receipt/challan, Matriculation/10th Standard, educational, caste, NOC, experience, Ph.D synopsis/M.Tech dissertation, list of research publications, etc.).
  • CGPA/SGPA Conversion: Convert CGPA/SGPA/OGPA/DGPA/CPI grades to a percentage using the formula provided by the concerned Board/University/Institution and upload the conversion formula.
  • Multiple Applications: Only one application per postcode will be accepted. Candidates can apply for multiple postcodes if eligible, but must complete separate online application forms and pay fees (if applicable) for each.
