Recruitment for Various Posts of Isolated Categories
The Government of India, Ministry of Railways, through the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has released Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No: 08/2025 for the recruitment of various posts under the Isolated Categories. Online applications are invited from eligible Indian Nationals for these posts in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications (as on 29/01/2026)
- Chief Law Assistant: University Degree in Law with 3 years of practice as a Pleader at Bar. Serving Railway employees who are Law Graduates with at least 5 years of service are also eligible.
- Public Prosecutor: Graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized University and five years standing as an advocate at Bar.
- Junior Translator (Hindi): Master's Degree in Hindi or English with specific conditions related to subjects at Degree level, OR a recognized Diploma/Certificate Course in translation with 2 years of experience.
- Senior Publicity Inspector: Degree from a recognized University and Diploma in Public Relations / Advertising / Journalism / Mass Communication. Desirable: 2 years of experience.
- Staff and Welfare Inspector: Graduation plus a Diploma in Labour/Social Welfare, Labour Laws, LLB with papers in Labour Laws, PG Diploma in Personnel Management, or MBA with papers in Personnel Management.
- Scientific Assistant (Training): Second Class Master's Degree in Psychology with one year of experience in the administration of Psychological tests.
- Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist): 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent with Science (Physics and Chemistry) as subjects.
- Scientific Supervisor (Ergonomics and Training): Second Class Master's Degree in Psychology or Physiology with two years of relevant experience.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
- 18-30 years: Born between 02/01/1996 and 01/01/2008 (UR/EWS).
- 18-32 years: Born between 02/01/1994 and 01/01/2008 (UR/EWS).
- 18-33 years: Born between 02/01/1993 and 01/01/2008 (UR/EWS).
- 18-35 years: Born between 02/01/1991 and 01/01/2008 (UR/EWS).
- 18-40 years: Born between 02/01/1986 and 01/01/2008 (UR/EWS).
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD (UR): 10 years
- PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules.
Application Fee
- For all candidates (except fee concession categories): Rs. 500/- (Rs. 400/- will be refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT).
- For PwBDs / Female / Transgender / Ex-Servicemen / SC / ST / Minority Communities / Economically Backward Class (EBC): Rs. 250/- (This fee will be fully refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT).
- Fee payment is to be made online via internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI.
Recruitment Process
The recruitment process will involve:
- Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Translation Test (TT) (as applicable for Junior Translator)
- Document Verification (DV)
- Medical Examination
Note: There will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for each wrong answer in the CBT.

How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted ONLINE only through the official websites of the RRBs.
- Candidates must first 'Create an Account'. Those who have created an account for CENs in 2024/2025 can use the same credentials.
- Candidates are required to capture a live photograph during the application process.
- A scanned copy of the candidate's signature and SC/ST certificate (for travel pass) must be uploaded.
- Candidates can apply to only ONE RRB.
