Railway Recruitment Board Malda Notice for Appeal Against Medical Unfitness for Junior Engineer (CEN 03/2024) Posts

Introduction

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Malda has issued a notice for candidates who were shortlisted for Document Verification (DV) for the posts of Junior Engineers (Level-6) against CEN:03/2024 and were subsequently found medically unfit by the medical committee at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Malda.

Opportunity for Appeal

As per Railway Board's letter No.2014/H/5/8/(Policy) dated 07/07/2017, the medically unfit candidates are given an opportunity to appeal against the decision.

List of Candidates

The notice provides a list of five candidates with their registration numbers, roll numbers, and medical fitness status who are eligible to appeal. Candidates are advised to refer to the official notification for this list.

Procedure for Appeal

1. Time Limit: Candidates wishing to appeal must submit their appeal with due justification within one month from the date of issue of this notice.
2. Appeal Authority: The appeal should be addressed to:

   The Principal Chief Medical Director, Eastern Railway, Kolkata

3. Submission Address: The appeal must be sent by Speed Post or delivered by hand to the following address:

   The Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Kalibari Railway Colony, PO- Jhaljhalia, District- Malda, W. Bengal. Pin-732102.

Requirements for Appeal

The appeal will be considered only if the candidate produces a medical certificate from a Government/Private Specialist in the specialty where they were found unfit. The certificate must:

• Contain a note confirming the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the specific medical category.
• Bear the candidate's photograph and identification marks, duly attested by the issuing authority.
• Clearly mention the specialist's full name, designation, address, clinic details, contact number, and Medical Council of India/State registration number.

Documents to be Submitted

Candidates must submit the following three documents by the last date:

1. Appeal Application (Proforma-B): Duly signed by the candidate, including justifications, Roll No., Registration No., and date of Document Verification.
2. Medical Certificate (Proforma-A): Issued by a Government/Private Specialist as per the prescribed format.
3. Demand Draft: A Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) in favour of PFA & CAO, Eastern Railway, Kolkata.
