Overview

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, will conduct an Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment of Constable (Executive) Male and Female in the Delhi Police. This notice will be uploaded on the Commission's website (https://ssc.gov.in) on 22-09-2025.

Pay Level-3 (₹ 21700- 69100/-) (Group 'C').

  • 10% vacancies are reserved for Ex-servicemen in each category of Constable (Executive) male. Half of this quota is reserved for those having served in Special Forces/NSG, received a 'Qualified Instructors' grading in the Commando course, or worked in specialized Commando-type units in Navy/Air Force.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality/Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Age Limit: 18-25 years as on 01-07-2025. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-07-2000 and later than 01-07-2007.
  • Age Relaxations: Permissible for various categories including SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Sportspersons (5-10 years), Departmental Candidates of Delhi Police (up to 40-45 years), Sons/daughters of Delhi Police personnel/MTS (up to 29 years), Ex-Servicemen (3-8 years after military service deduction), and Widows/Divorced/Judicially separated women (5 years).
  • Essential Qualification (as on 21-10-2025):
    • 10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed from a recognized Board.
    • Educational qualification is relaxable up to 11th passed for sons/daughters of serving, retired, or deceased Delhi Police Personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police, and Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc., of Delhi Police only.
    • Male candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (Motorcycle or Car) driving license as on the date of the Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT). Learner License is not acceptable.

Application Fee

  • Fee payable: ₹100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).
  • Exemptions: Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are exempted from fee payment.
  • Payment Mode: Online only through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
  • Last date for online fee payment: 22-10-2025 (23:00 Hours).

How to Apply

  • Candidates must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in).
  • The Online Application Form must be submitted only in online mode, either via the SSC website or the 'my SSC' mobile application.
  • Aadhaar-Based Authentication is recommended. For those not opting for Aadhaar-based authentication, documents for OTR and Photo ID proof with Date of Birth are mandatory.
  • Photograph Guidelines: Live capture of a clear photograph with a plain background, at eye level, direct frontal view, without a cap, mask, or glasses. Online Application Forms with blurred or inappropriate photographs will be rejected unless Aadhaar-Based Authentication is used.
  • Signature Guidelines: Scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB), dimensions about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height).
  • Candidates are advised to submit the Online Application Form much before the closing date to avoid last-minute issues.

Application Form Correction Window

  • A correction window will be available from 29-10-2025 to 31-10-2025 (23:00 hours).
  • Correction Charges: ₹200/- for the first time and ₹500/- for the second time.

Scheme of Examination

The recruitment process will consist of a Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination.

  • Computer-Based Examination (CBE):
    • Objective-type multiple-choice paper with 100 questions carrying 100 marks.
    • Duration: 90 minutes.
    • Medium: English and Hindi.
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
    • Syllabus:
      • Part-A: General Knowledge/Current Affairs (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
      • Part-B: Reasoning (25 Questions, 25 Marks)
      • Part-C: Numerical Ability (15 Questions, 15 Marks)
      • Part-D: Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc. (10 Questions, 10 Marks)
    • Matriculation Level question paper.
  • Cut-off marks for shortlisting to PE&MT/DV (normalized):
    • Unreserved: 35 marks
    • SC/ST/OBC/EWS: 30 marks
    • ESM: 25 marks

Incentives

  • NCC Certificate Holders:
    • 'C' Certificate: 5% of maximum marks of the Examination
    • 'B' Certificate: 3% of maximum marks of the Examination
    • 'A' Certificate: 2% of maximum marks of the Examination
  • Rashtriya Raksha University Degree/PG Diploma Holders:
    • Distinction: 5% of maximum marks of the Examination
    • First Class: 4% of maximum marks of the Examination
    • Second Class: 3% of maximum marks of the Examination
    • Pass Class: 2% of maximum marks of the Examination

Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT)

PE&MT is qualifying in nature and will be conducted by Delhi Police.

    • Chest: 81 cm with a minimum 4 cm expansion (i.e., 81-85 cm). Relaxable by 5 cm for Hill area residents, ST candidates, and sons of serving/retired/deceased Delhi Police personnel/MTS.
  • Female Candidates:

Medical Standard

Candidates must be in sound health, free from defects/deformity/disease, with vision 6/12 (without glasses in both eyes), and free from colour blindness.

  • Tattoos Policy:
    • Content: Tattoos depicting religious symbols/figures and names (as followed in the Indian Army) are permitted.
    • Location: Tattoos on traditional sites of the body like the inner aspect of the forearm (left forearm only) or dorsum of the hands are allowed.
    • Size: Must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand).

Document Verification

Document Verification will be conducted by the Delhi Police at the time of PE&MT. Candidates must present original and photocopies of various documents including Matriculation/Secondary Certificate, Essential Educational Qualification Certificate, Driving License (for male candidates), Caste/Category Certificate, Hill Area Certificate, Ex-Servicemen certificates, Wards Certificate, Sports Certificate, NCC Certificate, RRU Certificate, and documents for change of name, if applicable.

Resolution of Tie Cases

In case of a tie in scores in the Computer-Based Examination, the tie will be resolved by applying the following criteria, in order:

  1. Marks in Part-A of Computer Based Examination.
  2. Marks in Part-B of Computer Based Examination.
  3. Date of Birth (older candidates placed higher).
  4. Alphabetical order of the names of candidates.
