Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and Ex-servicemen of Himachal Pradesh.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:

1. 10+2 with 50% marks or Senior Secondary with 50% marks and a 2-year Junior Basic Teacher (JBT) course/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from an institute affiliated with HPBOSE.
2. Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year JBT/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
3. Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year JBT/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE Regulations, 2002.
4. Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
5. Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
6. Graduation and a 2-year JBT/Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.).
7. Post-Graduation with a minimum of 55% marks and a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed.

AND

• Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the H.P. Board of School Education or any other authorized agency.
• Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any school/institution within Himachal Pradesh. This condition is not applicable to Bonafide Himachalis.

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

• Mode of Payment: Online Payment Gateway using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.

Mode of Selection

• The selection process will involve a Computer Based Test (CBT) or a written screening test.
• The test will be of 120 marks and 1.5 hours (90 minutes) duration.
• The test will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions.
• Syllabus: Questions will cover subjects up to the level of the prescribed essential qualifications, General Knowledge (including Himachal Pradesh GK & Current Affairs), Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi of Matric Standard.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45% for General category and 40% for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/WFFs).

1. Candidates must first register on the HPRCA portal through the One Time Registration (OTR) system.
2. Fill the online application form available at the official website: https://hprca.hp.gov.in.
3. Upload the required documents, photograph, and signature.
4. Pay the requisite application fee online.
5. Submit the application form before the closing date.

General Instructions

• No offline application forms will be accepted.
• A correction window will be opened for seven days, three days after the closing date, for rectifying errors upon payment of the prescribed fee.
• The benefit of reservation is admissible only to bonafide residents of Himachal Pradesh.
• Candidates from other states will be treated as General (UR) category.
