NOTIFICATIONAdded: 26 Sep 2025SSC

Status of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025

Tier – 1 of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2025 has been successfully completed, with the exception of one shift at a Mumbai centre due to a fire incident. Approximately 28 lakh candidates applied for the exam, and about 13.5 lakh appeared across 255 centres, 126 cities, and 45 shifts over 15 days.

Candidate Feedback and Operational Adjustments

The Candidate Feedback Portal received 18920 submissions. Technical disruptions reported by some candidates were cross-checked with digital footprints, and affected individuals were rescheduled for another opportunity to take the test. Exam date-change requests were also accommodated. Operational and venue issues identified through candidate feedback will be reviewed for consideration in future exam centre selections.

Technological Advancements and Security Measures

Laptop-based testing was successfully piloted during this exam, involving thousands of candidates. This mode, once scaled up, is expected to offer greater flexibility in providing test centres and accommodating more candidates. Aadhaar Authentication was utilized throughout the exam process to enhance identity verification, and Aadhaar Face Authentication for application submission was implemented smoothly.

Accessibility and Quality Assurance

Tests were also conducted in Kavaratti (Lakshadweep) and Leh. A significant 93% of candidates were scheduled in their preferred cities. Concerns regarding question quality have been addressed, and corrective measures have been instituted.

Malpractice Incidents and Actions

Several incidents of malpractice were detected during the exams. Some individuals were apprehended by law enforcement for producing fake PwBD documents and attempting to misuse scribe provisions. Cases of remote access attempts have also been identified, with detailed analysis underway. Candidates with clear evidence of malpractice will be debarred and will not receive further opportunities. For candidates where evidence is ambiguous, a re-exam will be held on 14th October 2025 to clarify their status. Candidates affected by the Mumbai Fire incident on 26th September will also take their exam on 14th October 2025.
