Important Instructions for Applicants

  1. Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria for the post(s) as of the eligibility date.

  9. Admission to all stages of recruitment is purely provisional, subject to satisfying eligibility conditions.
  10. Selected candidates are subject to verification of eligibility, credentials, medical examination, and antecedents.
  11. Candidates seeking age relaxation or fee exemption must submit valid requisite certificates from the Competent Authority.
  12. Candidates with adverse reports regarding character or antecedents are not eligible.
  13. If a candidate submits more than one application for the same post, only the last valid (completed) application will be retained.

General Information

  • The Bank reserves the right to change or cancel the recruitment process entirely or partially at any stage.

  • CIBIL: Candidates who have defaulted on repayment of any lending arrangement with Banks/NBFCs (including credit card dues) and have not regularized/repaid their outstanding by the offer letter date are ineligible. If regularization/repayment occurs before the offer letter but the CIBIL status is not updated by the joining date, a No Dues Certificate from the lender is required.

Important Points on Reservation & Age Relaxation

  • Reservation for PwBD candidates is horizontal and included within the respective parent category vacancies.
  • The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary.
  • Maximum age limit is for Unreserved candidates. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per Government of India guidelines.
  • OBC candidates belonging to the 'Creamy Layer' are not entitled to OBC reservation or age relaxation.

B. Educational Qualification, Work Experience & Specific Skills Required

  • Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2025):

    • A Master's degree in Economics / Econometrics / Mathematical Economics / Financial Economics, with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university/institute.
    • Higher qualifications like PhD in Economics / Banking / Finance / Statistics / Mathematics will be preferred.
  • Post-Qualification Experience (As on 01.08.2025):

    • At least 1 year of post-qualification work experience in the relevant field of Research and Analytics.
    • Candidates with relevant experience related to Banking Industry & NBFC will have an added advantage.
  • Specific Skills:

    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Exposure to Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Big Data, and knowledge of Statistical/Analytical Packages like STATA, SAS, E-views, R, etc. is desirable.
    • Knowledge in Mathematical/Statistical Model Building is mandatory.
    • Knowledge of Databases like Bloomberg, Reuters, CEIC is desirable.
  • Important Points (Qualifications):

    • The prescribed educational qualification is the minimum requirement.
    • The relevant experience certificate must specifically state experience in the required field.
    • If the degree/diploma does not specify the field of specialization, a certificate from the university/college mentioning it is required.
    • Candidates must indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation (calculated to the nearest two decimals) in the online application. If CGPA/OGPA is awarded, it must be converted to a percentage.

C. Brief Job Profile, Role & Responsibilities, Functions & Activities

  • Job Profile: Undertaking collection, compilation, analysis, and interpretation of data; performing statistical analysis using statistical/econometric models; empirical testing; conducting conceptual and methodological studies; designing and organizing large-scale sample surveys; macro-econometric model building for forecasting economic and banking indicators; contributing to research publications.
  • Key Responsibility Areas: Publication of Eco wraps; preparation of articles/speeches/background papers for Chairman and Top Management; support to other SBI Departments (e.g., Annual Budget, Policy Guidelines, Capital Raising Exercise); preparing feedback/opinion for RBI/Government/IBA; providing inputs & preparing background papers for Chairman & Top Management, GCEA on banking & economy issues; publication of co-authored/self-research articles.
  • Remarks: Actual Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) will be assigned upon joining. Roles/Responsibilities/Job Profile mentioned are illustrative. The candidates selected for Regular posts will be governed by the Service Rules applicable to SBI employees.

E. Selection Process

The selection will be based on Shortlisting and Interview.

  • Shortlisting: Merely fulfilling minimum qualification and experience does not guarantee an interview call. The Bank's shortlisting committee will decide the parameters and the number of candidates to be shortlisted.
  • Interview: The interview will carry 100 marks. The qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
  • Merit List: A merit list will be prepared in descending order based on interview scores. In case of tie-breaking (common marks), candidates will be ranked according to their age.

F. Call Letter for Interview

Intimation/call letters for the interaction will be uploaded on the Bank's website or sent by email. No hard copy will be sent.

G. How to Apply

Candidates should have a valid Email ID, kept active until result declaration.

  • Guidelines for Filling Online Application:
    1. Register online via the provided link and pay the application fee using Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI.
    2. Scan and upload your latest photograph and signature. Online application is incomplete without these uploads.
    3. Fill the application carefully. Applicants can save and re-open (up to three times) to edit. A provisional registration number and password will be generated upon saving.
    4. Print the system-generated online application form after successful registration.
    5. Age relaxation candidates need to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of document verification. No change in category is permitted after registration.
  • Guidelines for Payment of Fees:
    1. Application Fees and Intimation Charges: Rs. 750/- (Seven Hundred Fifty only) for General/EWS/OBC candidates. No fees for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
    2. Fees must be paid online through the payment gateway integrated with the application. Transaction charges (if any) will be borne by the candidate.
    3. An e-receipt and application form will be generated after successful payment, which should be printed and retained.
    4. If online payment fails, make fresh attempts.
    5. The application fee, once paid, is non-refundable.

H. How to Upload Documents

  • Details of Documents to be Uploaded: Recent Photograph, Signature, Biodata (Format Attached), Resume, ID Proof, Proof of Date of Birth, Educational Certificates (Mark-Sheets/Degree Certificate), Experience certificates, Caste Certificate / EWS Certificate (if applicable), PwBD Certificate (if applicable), Preferred qualification / Certification (if any), Form-16/Offer Letter/Latest Salary slip from current employer.
  • Document File Type/Size:
    • All documents (except Photograph & Signature) must be in PDF format, A4 size, and not exceeding 500 kb.
    • Photographs should be a recent passport-style color picture, 20-50 kb, 200x230 pixels, taken against a light-colored (preferably white) background.
    • Signatures must be on white paper with black ink, signed only by the applicant, 10-20 kb, 140x60 pixels, and not in CAPITAL LETTERS.
  • Scanning Guidelines:
    • Set scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch), Color to True Color.
    • Crop the image to the edge and use the upload editor to crop to the final size.
    • Photo/signature files should be JPG or JPEG format.
    • Ensure uploaded documents are clear and readable. Applications with unclear photographs or signatures may be rejected.
