Introduction

The Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)-4 is a specialized recruitment drive for various regular Non-Faculty Group-B and Group-C posts across participating All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and other Central Government Institutes/Bodies. These entities operate as autonomous bodies or subordinate offices under the Government of India. The CRE platform streamlines the application process through a single-window system, with recruitment strictly adhering to the Recruitment Rules (RRs) of each participating Institute/Organization.

AIIMS New Delhi's Examination Section is solely responsible for conducting the Computer Based Test (CBT) and other examinations, based on vacancy positions and eligibility criteria provided by the independent organizations. AIIMS New Delhi has no involvement in setting recruitment rules, eligibility criteria, service conditions, or final appointments. Online applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the advertised posts, which include standard allowances as per the rules of the respective Institutes/Hospitals.

Application Process

All candidates applying for the CRE-4 must do so online via www.aiimsexams.ac.in. Applicants are advised to carefully fill out the online application, as corrections will not be allowed after the specified dates. It is mandatory to keep a copy of the registration slip and payment proof for future reference. Candidates must ensure that the uploaded images of their photo, signature, and thumb impression adhere to the guidelines provided in the 'Upload Image Instructions'; non-compliance will lead to rejection of the application.

For roles requiring experience, certificates from the Head(s) of the Organization(s)/Department(s) must clearly state the duration of employment (date, month & year), basic/consolidated pay, and nature of duties. For candidates currently employed by Government/Semi or Quasi Government/PSUs/Autonomous Bodies, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer is mandatory and must be produced during Document Verification. Provisional eligibility is granted based on application data, but candidature is subject to verification at later stages.

Age Relaxation

The crucial date for determining age eligibility is the closing date of online registration. Age relaxation is permissible for various categories:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PWBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Length of military service plus 3, 6, or 8 years depending on category.
  • Central Govt. Civilian Employees: 5 years (Group B); up to 40, 43, or 45 years (Group C) depending on category.
  • J&K Domiciled (Group C): 5, 8, or 10 years depending on category.
  • Widows/Divorced Women (Group C): up to 35, 38, or 40 years depending on category.
  • Defence Personnel Disabled: 5, 8, or 10 years depending on category.
  • Service Clerks (Armed Forces): up to 45, 48, or 50 years depending on category.

Note: SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies will not receive age relaxation. Age concession is not applicable to sons, daughters, and dependents of ex-servicemen.

Certificates

Candidates must possess valid caste/category certificates (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC/ST, PWBD) in the prescribed format. For OBC-NCL, the certificate must indicate non-creamy layer status and be valid for the financial year 2025-2026, issued between April 1, 2025, and December 2, 2025. Similarly, EWS certificates must be based on income for the financial year 2024-2025 and issued within the same dates. All certificates must be in Hindi or English. Failure to produce valid certificates will result in cancellation of candidature. PwBD candidates require a benchmark disability of 40% or more and will undergo a medical board evaluation.

Educational qualification and experience certificates must be complete by the closing date of online registration and must be submitted when required, including during document verification.

Scribe and Compensatory Time

  • Eligibility: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as defined under Section 2(r) of the RPWD Act, 2016, with 40% or more disability, are eligible.
  • Scribe: Candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy can use a scribe with a self-undertaking. Other PwBD categories need a certificate from a Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent.
  • Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to eligible candidates. The scribe's qualification will be one step below the minimum qualification of the main examination.

Application Fees

  • General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 3000/-
  • SC/ST Candidates/EWS: Rs. 2400/-
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwBD): Exempted

Candidates applying for multiple groups must pay the fee separately for each. Fees are non-refundable, except for SC/ST candidates who appear in the examination, whose fees will be refunded after results are declared.

Examination Details

  • Date of Examination: The Computer Based Test (CBT) is tentatively scheduled for December 22nd to 24th, 2025. AIIMS reserves the right to modify dates with 10 days' advance notice.
  • Examination Centre(s): Exams will be held in major States/UTs across India. AIIMS may allot any city/state. If a group has fewer than 500 applicants, the examination might be conducted solely in Delhi/NCR.
  • Admit Card: Admit cards will be issued 3 days before the examination date, with city/state notification 7 days in advance. Candidates must download their admit cards from www.aiimsexams.ac.in using their credentials; no physical admit cards will be sent.

Pattern/Scheme/Syllabus of Examination (Computer Based Test - CBT)

  • Duration: 90 minutes.
  • Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying 4 marks, totaling 400 marks.
  • Composition: 20 MCQs on General Knowledge & Aptitude and Computer Knowledge, and 80 MCQs on the domain of the respective group.
  • Sections: The paper is divided into 5 sections, each 18 minutes long and containing 20 questions. Each section will appear sequentially, and candidates cannot revisit previous sections.
  • Medium of Examination: For qualifications up to 10+2, the exam will be bilingual (English/Hindi). For specific technical domain knowledge or bachelor's/higher qualifications, the medium will be English only. In combined examinations, the medium will be English only.

Qualifying & Other Criteria

  • Negative Marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS - 40%, OBC - 35%, SC & ST - 30%. For PwBD candidates, irrespective of category, qualifying marks are 30%.

Resolution of Tie Cases

In cases of equal marks, ties will be resolved by:

  1. Higher marks in the domain-specific part.
  2. Fewer wrong answers/negative marks.
  3. Older date of birth (older candidate placed higher).

Syllabus and Language (Post-specific)

The syllabus for the domain part (80 MCQs) will align with the educational qualification and experience mentioned in Annexure-I for each post. The language of examination varies based on the post, with some being bilingual (English/Hindi) and others English only. Skill Test

Skill Tests are applicable for certain posts and will be conducted in Stage-II for candidates who qualify Stage-I (CBT). These tests are qualifying in nature, and the final merit list will be based on CBT performance. The skill test will be computer-based. Examples include:

  • Assistant Administrative Officer/Junior Administrative Officer/Office Superintendent (Group Code 2): 1-hour computer-based test with 2 questions on Noting & Drafting (30 marks) and 2 questions on Precise Writing (20 marks). Minimum qualifying score: 17 marks.
  • Junior Administrative Assistant/Lower Division Clerk/Senior Administrative Assistant/Upper Division Clerk (Group Code 3): A two-part skill test. Part A (Writing Skill Test) is mandatory for all, a descriptive test (Essay and Letter Writing) for 30 marks (minimum 10 marks to qualify). Part B (Typing Skill Test) requires 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi.
  • Jr Scale Steno (Hindi)/Personal Assistant/PA to Principal(S)/Private Secretary/Stenographer (Group Code 20): Stenography test at varying speeds (e.g., 80 w.p.m. in English/Hindi for 10 minutes) with specified transcription times. Hindi transcription uses Mangal font.
  • Fire Technician/Security Cum Fire Assistant (Group Code 29): Involves a Physical Standards Test (PST) and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PST involves measurements for height, chest, and vision, and is qualifying. PET is marks-based (50 marks, minimum 25 to qualify) with activities like Long Jump, High Jump, Sprint, Race, Obstacles, and Pull-ups, with different standards for male and female candidates.

Preparation of Merit List & Allocation of Seats

The merit list will be prepared solely on candidates' performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT), applying normalization procedures if conducted in multiple shifts. If a Skill Test is applicable, it will be qualifying. Qualified candidates will be invited to select their preferred Institutes/Organizations. Seat allocation will be based on merit, choices, and provisional eligibility. Failure to join the allocated seat or meet eligibility criteria will result in mandatory cancellation of candidature.

Eligibility & Document Verification

Provisionally selected candidates will undergo verification of original certificates/documents by the respective AIIMS/Institutes. Required documents include the downloaded Registration Slip, Admit Card, Date of Birth certificate, Caste/Income & Asset Certificate (if applicable), Disability Certificate (if applicable), Age Relaxation Certificate (if applicable), No Objection Certificate (if applicable), Educational Qualification certificates, and Experience certificates. It is crucial to possess all required certificates by the application's closing date.

General Conditions

Canvassing will lead to disqualification. Posting locations will be determined by the respective AIIMS/Institute's rules. Applications are accepted provisionally based on claims made in the online form; however, candidature is subject to cancellation if any information is found incorrect. AIIMS, New Delhi, acts only as the examination conducting body and is not responsible for recruitment rules, relaxation, or appointment decisions of participating Institutes. Legal and Disciplinary Action

Legal and disciplinary action will be initiated against individuals found guilty of misconduct, including, but not limited to, obtaining support through illegal means, impersonation, using unfair means in the examination, submitting fabricated documents, or violating examination instructions. Penalties may include disqualification, debarment from future examinations, and disciplinary action for government employees.
