Delisted Candidates for ALP Post (CEN 01/2024) and Medical Appeal Process

Important Notice for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Candidates (CEN 01/2024)

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Jammu-Srinagar, has released a notification regarding candidates for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) post under CEN 01/2024 who could not be considered for empanelment due to various reasons and have been delisted from the select list. This notice also outlines the procedure for appeal for candidates declared medically unfit.

Categories of Delisted Candidates

The following candidates from CEN 01/2024 have been delisted for the ALP post due to the reasons mentioned:

  • Absent: A list of 10 candidates has been provided in the original notification.
  • Abscond from Medical Examination: A list of 8 candidates has been provided in the original notification.
  • Unfit in Prescribed Medical Examination: A list of 5 candidates has been provided in the original notification.

Procedure for Medical Appeal

Candidates who have been declared medically unfit can prefer an appeal to the Principal Chief Medical Director (PCMD), Northern Railway, Baroda House, New Delhi.

  • Routing: The appeal must be routed through The Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Railway Colony West, Jammu 180012.
  • Deadline: Appeals must be submitted before 18:00 hours on 2025-12-23.
  • Submission Method: Appeals must be submitted by Registered post/Speed Post only.

Conditions for Appeal

The appeal will be entertained only if the following conditions are met:

  1. The candidate must produce a certificate in the attached prescribed format (Proforma A) from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty/specialties in which they have been found unfit.
  2. The certificate should explicitly state that the Government/Private specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the particular medical category and that they are aware of the candidate's prior declaration of unfitness based on these standards by an appropriate medical board.
  3. The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and mark of identification, duly attested by the issuing government/private medical certificate authority, clearly mentioning their MCI/State registration number.
  4. A fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) must be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favor of "Chairman/ RRB/Jammu."
  5. If the PCMD deems a re-examination necessary, they may nominate a medical board. The PCMD's decision will be communicated to the candidate through RRB/Jammu.
  6. If the decision changes from unfit to fit, the Rs.1000/- DD amount will be returned to the candidate. In all other cases, the DD amount will be forfeited, and candidates will have no further claim.
  7. No further chance for medical examination will be given after this appeal.

Important Notes

  1. The appeal against medical unfitness must be submitted in the candidate's own handwriting and bear their signature.
  2. Proforma 'A' must include detailed diagnosis particulars, covering visual standards both with and without glasses.
  3. The appeal will only be entertained when accompanied by the appeal letter (Proforma B), the Original Medical Certificate (Proforma A), and the Demand Draft for Rs.1000/-.
