Recruitment of Clerks on Adhoc Basis

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up 60 posts of Clerks on an adhoc basis in the Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar. The initial engagement period will be for six months or until regular appointments are made by the Hon'ble High Court.

Note: In case no candidate from a reserved category is available or qualifies for selection, the appointment will be made from the General Category.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • B.A. or B.Sc. or equivalent from a recognized University.
    • Must have passed Punjabi Language as a subject in Matriculation Examination or its equivalent standard.
    • Proficiency in the operation of Computers.
  • Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025): 18 to 37 years. Age relaxation will be admissible as per the norms of the Punjab Government.

Application Process

Candidates must submit their applications along with two recent identical passport-size photographs and self-attested photocopies of relevant testimonials (proof of Qualification, Date of Birth, category, etc.) strictly on the prescribed proforma (attached at the end of the employment notice).

  • Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline of 05:00 PM on 06.12.2025 will not be entertained.
  • Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria before applying.

Selection Process

  1. Written Test: Comprising General Knowledge and English Composition.
  2. Minimum Marks: Candidates must obtain at least 40% marks in aggregate in the written examination.
  3. Computer Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of computers.
  4. Document Verification: All candidates must bring their original testimonials at the time of the proficiency test.
  • No T.A./D.A. will be paid to candidates appearing for the test.
  • The number of posts may be increased or decreased before the selection process is complete, without prior notice.

List of Documents to be Attached with Application Form

  1. Proof of Date of Birth.
  2. Photocopy of Matriculation Certificate with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.
  3. Photocopy of self-attested Educational Qualification certificates.
  4. Photocopy of self-attested Caste Certificate/Category Certificate or any other certificate for age relaxation.
  5. Experience certificate (if any).
  6. Address Proof.
  7. Two identical photographs (one pasted on the application form and one attached separately).
