Candidates are advised to regularly check www.iocl.com for updates.### Positions Offered Junior Engineer/Officer in various engineering disciplines.### Pay Scale* Rs 30,000 - 1,20,000/- with an initial basic pay of ₹30,000 per month.### Qualifications (1.0)* Three (3) years diploma with not less than 65% marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, as per respective Institute/University norms.* The diploma must be a Full-time Regular course from Institutions/Colleges/Universities/Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Boards.* Eligible Disciplines for Domain Specific Paper in CBT: * Chemical: Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Chemical Technology (Fertiliser), Petrochemical Engineering, Petrochemical Technology, Refinery and Petrochemical Engineering. * Mechanical: Mechanical. * Electrical: Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Power System, Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control). * Instrumentation: Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation.* Important Notes on Qualifications: * Candidates with diplomas in disciplines other than those listed are not eligible. * Diplomas in combined/integrated disciplines/inter-disciplinary subjects are not eligible. * Applicants must be able to produce their final diploma/marksheet by 2025-10-31. * For letter/number grades (CGPA/GPI/SGPA/DGPA/OGPA/CPI), equivalent percentage conversion formula adopted by the respective Institute/University must be provided. * Fraction of percentage will not be rounded off. * Sandwich Diploma courses (with Industrial training as part of the course with no break) are eligible. * Diploma under recognized lateral entry scheme (Class-XII (Sc.)/ITI admitted in 2nd year) is eligible, subject to meeting prescribed percentage of marks on the basis of aggregate of 4 semesters. * Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as BE, B.Tech, MBA, CA, CS, CMA, MCA, Ph.D etc. are NOT eligible. However, if such candidates also possess the prescribed Diploma qualification and meet other eligibility criteria, only the percentage acquired in the Diploma Engineering qualification will be considered.### Upper Age Limit (2.0)* Candidates from General/EWS category should not be more than 26 years as on 2025-07-01. PwBD reservation will be applied on a horizontal basis.* Detailed guidelines for SC/ST, OBC(NCL) (including non-creamy layer criteria and certificate validity period, OBC(NCL) certificate must be issued on or after 2025-04-01), and EWS (Income and Asset Certificate valid for FY 2025-26, prepared based on FY 2024-25, issued on or after 2025-04-01) certificates are provided in the advertisement.* For PwBD category, candidates need a permanent disability of minimum 40%, a PwBD certificate as per Form V/VI/VII (Rule 18(1) of RPwBD Act 2017), and a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card.### Physical Fitness (5.0)* Final selection is subject to meeting physical fitness criteria as per Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) Guidelines.* Candidates are advised to review the 'Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Pre-employment Medical Examination' on www.iocl.com before applying.### Selection and Shortlisting Process (6.0)* The selection process comprises: * Computer Based Test (CBT) * Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT) * Personal Interview (PI)* Computer Based Test (CBT) (6.2): * 100 objective Multiple-Choice Questions. * Sections: * A: Domain Knowledge: 50 questions * B: General Aptitude: 50 questions (Quantitative Aptitude - 20, Logical Reasoning - 15, Verbal Ability of English Language - 15) * Each question carries one mark, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. * Duration: 150 minutes (20 minutes extra per hour for eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe).* Shortlisting Process (6.3): * Candidates will be shortlisted for GD, GT, and PI based on CBT marks (out of 100) in descending order by domain. * Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBT: * General, EWS, OBC-NCL: 40% in each section (A & B) and 45% overall. * SC/ST: 35% in each section (A & B) and 40% overall. * PwBD: 25% in each section (A & B) and 30% overall.* Merit List (6.5): * Prepared based on individual qualification in all selection components and a Composite Score. * Weightages: * CBT: 85% * GD & GT: 5% (40% minimum pass marks) * PI: 10% (40% minimum pass marks) * Composite Score Minimum Pass Marks: General, EWS, OBC-NCL - 45%; SC/ST - 40%; PwBD - 30%.* Test Centres: CBT will be conducted in 36 cities across India. Name on ID must exactly match the name on the Call Letter. Ration Card and Learner's Driving License are not valid ID proofs. Female candidates with changed names post marriage need to produce a Gazette notification/marriage certificate/affidavit.* Scribe Guidelines (7.8): PwBD candidates in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected - BA) and cerebral palsy may use their own scribe at their cost.
