The Government of India, Ministry of Railways, through the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), has announced the Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2025 for the recruitment of various posts in Isolated Categories across different Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. Eligible Indian citizens are invited to apply online for these positions.

Application Fee

  • For all candidates (except fee concession categories): ₹500/-. Out of this, ₹400/- will be refunded after deducting bank charges, on appearing in the First Stage CBT.
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBDs, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class (EBC): ₹250/-. This fee will be fully refunded after deducting bank charges, on appearing in the First Stage CBT.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum educational qualification from a recognized Board/University/Institute as of the closing date for submission of online applications (29-01-2026). Candidates awaiting final results of prescribed educational qualifications should not apply.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)

The age limits for different posts are mentioned in the vacancy table above. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government norms:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • PwBD (UR): 10 years
  • PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process will involve the following stages:

  1. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
  2. Translation Test (for Junior Translator posts)
  3. Document Verification (DV)
  4. Medical Examination

Exam Pattern for CBT (For all posts except Junior Translator)

  • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates with a scribe).
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Negative Marking: There will be negative marking, and 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for CBT

  • UR & EWS: 40%
  • OBC (NCL): 30%
  • SC: 30%
  • ST: 25% A relaxation of 2% in marks will be given to PwBD candidates if there is a shortfall of PwBD candidates for vacancies reserved for them.

How to Apply

  1. Candidates can apply only ONLINE through the official websites of the RRBs.
  2. Candidates must first 'Create an account' on the RRB portal. Details filled in the 'Create an account' form, including mobile number and email ID, cannot be modified later.
  3. Candidates must ensure they have a personal mobile number and email ID, which should be kept active throughout the recruitment process.
  4. A live photograph of the candidate will be captured during the online application process. Scanned signatures and other required documents must be uploaded as per the specified format.
  5. A candidate can apply to only one RRB for all the notified posts in this CEN.
