Intimation for Medically Unfit Candidates

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Guwahati has released a notification for candidates who underwent medical examination against CEN NO: 02/2024 and were found unfit in the prescribed medical category. A list of these candidates is provided in the official notification.

Provision for Appeal

Candidates who wish to appeal against the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for medical re-examination. The appeal must be submitted in the format provided in Annexure B.

Last Date for Appeal: On or before 17:00 hours of 20.02.2026.

Submission Address: Pr. Chief Medical Director, N.F. Railway, Maligaon, Guwahati - 781011 (The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati).

Submission Method: Speed post or delivered by hand.

Procedure of Appeal

An appeal will be entertained only if it meets the following conditions:

  1. The appeal, with due justification and signed by the candidate indicating Roll No., Registration No., and Date of Document Verification, must be received by the specified deadline.
  2. Candidates must produce a medical certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty in which the candidate was found unfit.
  3. The certificate must contain a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for that particular medical category and is aware that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Railway Medical Board.
  4. The certificate must bear a photograph and identification mark of the candidate, duly attested by the issuing authority. The issuing authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.
  5. An appeal fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon.

Fee Refund: The DD will be refunded to the candidate if the appeal is successful and the decision is changed from 'Unfit' to 'Fit'. In all other cases, the fee will be credited to the Railway.

Candidates are advised to refer to Annexure A for the proforma of the medical certificate and Annexure B for the appeal application format attached to the official notice.
