Intimation About Medical Unfitness and Provision for Appeal for CEN NO: 02/2024

Introduction

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Guwahati has issued a notification regarding candidates who have been found medically unfit following their medical examination in Railway Hospitals. This notice pertains to the notification CEN NO: 02/2024.

Affected Candidates

The following candidates have been declared unfit in the prescribed medical category:

Appeal for Medical Re-examination

Candidates who wish to appeal against the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for a medical re-examination. The appeal must be submitted in the format provided in Annexure B.

Submission Address: Pr. Chief Medical Director, N.F. Railway, Maligaon, Guwahati - 781011 (The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati)

Last Date for Submission: Appeals must be received on or before 17:00 hours of 20.02.2026.

Submission Method: By speed post or delivered by hand.

Procedure of Appeal

An appeal will be entertained only if it meets the following conditions:

  1. Justification: The appeal must be duly signed with justification, indicating the candidate's Roll no., Registration no., & Date of Document Verification.
  2. Medical Certificate: The candidate must provide a certificate from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty in which they were found unfit. This certificate should be in the prescribed format (Annexure A).
  3. Specialist's Declaration: The certificate must include a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for the specific medical category and that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Railway Medical Board.
  4. Certificate Attestation: The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and identification mark, duly attested by the issuing authority. The issuing authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.
  5. Appeal Fee: A fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid via a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon.

Fee Refund

If the appeal is considered and the candidate's medical status is changed from 'Unfit' to 'Fit', the DD of Rs. 1000/- will be refunded. In all other cases, the amount will be credited to the Railway.
