Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/Citizenship

Candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age Limit (as on 2025-07-01)

18 to 27 years (candidates born not before 1998-07-02 and not later than 2007-07-01).

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 3 years after deduction of military service from actual age.
  • Sportsmen/Sportswomen of Distinction:

Educational Qualification (as on closing date of Online Application Form)

  • Passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized Board with Science & Mathematics as subjects. OR
  • National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the trade of Mechanic-cum-Operator Electronic Communication System.

Professional Attainments (Qualifying in Nature)

  • Proficiency in Computer Operation:
    • Test of English word processing speed-1000 key depressions in 15 minutes.
    • Test of Basic Computer Functions (Opening/Closing of PC, printing, MS office usage, saving & modification of typed text, paragraph setting & numbering, etc.).

NCC Certificate Holders

  • NCC 'C' Certificate: 5% of maximum marks
  • NCC 'B' Certificate: 3% of maximum marks
  • NCC 'A' Certificate: 2% of maximum marks

Weightage of Additional Marks (Rashtriya Raksha University Degree/PG Diploma)

  • Distinction: 5% of maximum marks
  • First Class: 4% of maximum marks

Application Fee

  • Fee Payable: INR 100/-

How to Apply

  1. Applications must be submitted online through the SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) or mySSC mobile application.
  2. Candidates are required to complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website.
  3. Aadhaar-Based Authentication is advised. Candidates opting for it will not have their applications rejected for photograph/signature issues.
  4. The application module captures a live photograph of the candidate. Ensure good light, plain background, camera at eye level, and full face coverage without cap, mask, or spectacles.
  5. Upload scanned signature (JPEG format, 10-20 KB, dimensions 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height)). Blurred/miniature signatures will be rejected (unless Aadhaar authenticated).
  6. Candidates are advised to submit applications well before the closing date to avoid website congestion.

Scheme of Examination/Mode of Recruitment

The selection process consists of the following compulsory tests:

  1. Computer Based Examination (CBE): Conducted by SSC (100 Marks).
  2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT): Conducted by Delhi Police (Qualifying).
  3. Trade Test: Conducted by Delhi Police (Qualifying).
  4. Test of English Word Processing: Conducted by Delhi Police (Qualifying).
  5. Test of Basic Computer Functions: Conducted by Delhi Police (Qualifying).

Computer Based Examination (CBE)

  • Type: Objective-type multiple-choice paper.
  • Duration: 90 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes).
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Language: Hindi and English.
  • Standard: 12th level.
  • Sections:
    • Part-A: General Awareness (20 Questions, 20 Marks)
    • Part-B: General Science (25 Questions, 25 Marks)
    • Part-C: Mathematics (25 Questions, 25 Marks)
    • Part-D: Reasoning (20 Questions, 20 Marks)
    • Part-E: Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc. (10 Questions, 10 Marks)
  • Qualifying Marks: General/EWS: 40%, SC/ST/OBC: 35%, Ex-servicemen: 30%.

Note: Candidates who qualify in the race will be eligible for Long Jump and High Jump. Three chances will be given for jumps. No appeal against disqualification. Pregnant female candidates will be declared temporarily unfit and re-examined after confinement.

Physical Measurement (Qualifying)

  • Male Height: 170 cms (relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas and wards of Delhi Police personnel).
  • Male Chest: Minimum 81 cms (unexpanded) - 85 cms (expanded) (minimum 4 cms expansion). Relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas and wards of Delhi Police personnel.
  • Female Height: 157 cms (relaxable by 5 cms for residents of hill areas and wards of Delhi Police personnel).

Medical Standard

  • General: Candidates should be of sound health, free from disease, defect, or deformity.
  • Eye Sight: Better eye 6/6 without glasses. Worse eye 6/36 corrected with glasses 6/9 or 6/12 without glasses (both eyes). Candidate must be free from colour blindness.

Trade Test (Qualifying)

  • Assesses candidate's capability to transmit and receive messages.
  • Mode: Reading and Dictation in both Hindi and English.
  • Disqualification: More than 50% mistakes in Hindi or English dictation.

Test of Proficiency in Computer Operation (Qualifying)

  • English Word Processing Speed Test:
    • 1000 key depressions in 15 minutes (200 words).
    • Disqualification: 25 or more mistakes.
  • Test of Basic Computer Functions:
    • Includes Opening/Closing of PC, printing, MS office usage, saving & modification of typed text, paragraph setting & numbering, etc.
    • MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Excel formatting features will be tested (10 features, 0.5 marks each). A minimum of 3 marks out of 5 in each test is required to qualify.

Document Verification (DV)

  • All shortlisted candidates who qualify CBE and PE&MT will be required to appear for Document Verification.
  • Candidates must bring original documents and photocopies as specified in the notice.

Important Instructions to Candidates

  • Candidates must read the Notice of Examination carefully.
  • Submit online applications well before the closing date.
  • Ensure all details, especially name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, and matriculation examination details, match the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Applications with inappropriate/blurred photographs or signatures will be summarily rejected (unless Aadhaar authenticated).
  • Only one online application form is allowed per candidate; multiple applications will lead to rejection.
