After document verification for various posts under CEN-03/2024 of JE & Others, candidates appeared for Document Verification which was followed by a Medical Examination at the Railway Hospitals. As per the medical reports, some candidates were found unfit/not found fit in the prescribed medical category. Instructions for submitting an appeal against the medical decision are detailed below.
If a candidate wishes to appeal against the decision of the medical committee, they should submit their appeal to the Principal Chief Medical Director, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur. The appeal must be submitted within 30 days from the date of issue of this information (i.e., by 2025-11-11), with due justification.
The appeal, addressed to the Principal Chief Medical Director, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, should reach the following address by Speed Post or be delivered by hand on any working day:
To The Chairman Railway Recruitment Board, Railway Station Road, Gorakhpur-273012 (Uttar Pradesh).
An appeal shall only be entertained if the candidate produces a medical certificate from a Government/Private doctor of the speciality/specialities in which the candidate has been found unfit. Such a certificate must contain a note stating that:
"The Government/Private Specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the particular medical category and that he/she is aware of the fact that the candidate has already been declared unfit according to these standards during medical examination conducted by an appropriate medical board comprising of three Senior Railway Doctors appointed by the Government in this regard." (Annexure-A)
The certificate should bear the candidate's photograph and marks of identification, duly attested by such a Government/Private issuing authority. This authority must also clearly mention their full name, designation, address, etc., and their Medical Council of India/State registration number.
If candidates wish to appeal against their medical verdict, they must send their appeal to Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur by 2025-11-11 with the following three documents:
