Eligibility Criteria
a. General Eligibility
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must be of good character and sound health.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently.
b. Minimum Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Must have computer knowledge including proficiency in internet, e-mail, Word Processing, data analysis, and presentation.
- Special Qualification for Auditors: For the posts of Common Cadre Auditor, Auditor under State Transport Authority, and Auditor under Director of Industries, candidates must also possess a PGDCA from a recognized institute.
c. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 42 Years
- Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to SEBC, SC, ST, all Women candidates (5 years), PwD category (10 years), and Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.
Examination Fee and Mode of Payment
- Candidates (other than SC, ST, and PwD) are required to pay an examination fee of ₹500/-.
- The fee must be paid online through the Odisha Treasury portal.
- The examination fee will be refunded to candidates who appear in the first stage of the recruitment examination.
Plan and Pattern of Examination
The competitive examination will be conducted in three stages:
Stage I: Preliminary Examination (150 marks)
- This will be a qualifying examination.
- Syllabus includes Arithmetic, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Current Events, Computer Awareness, and Odisha specific GK.
Stage II: Main Written Examination (200 marks)
- Paper-I: Language (Odia and English)
- Paper-II: General Studies
- There will be negative marking for wrong answers in MCQ-based tests.
Special Tests (as applicable):
- Mathematics Test: Only for the posts of Auditors.
- Computer Skill Test: Qualifying in nature (50% marks) for posts like Auditor, Inspector of Supplies, BSSO, Junior Assistant, etc.
Stage III: Certificate Verification
- Candidates numbering 1.5 times the advertised vacancies will be shortlisted for certificate verification based on their performance in the Main Written Examination and qualifying special tests.
Place and Date of Examination
- The tentative date for the Preliminary Examination is February-March 2026.
- Exact dates, times, and venues for all stages of the examination will be communicated through the OSSC website and Admission Letters.
