Syllabus for Junior Judicial Assistant and Junior Judicial Assistant (Computer)
The examination will consist of General Studies and Aptitude Test for a total of 100 marks. The syllabus is divided into several parts:
Part-1: General Studies
(This section will have 25 questions for a total of 25 marks)
1. General Studies:
- History of India and India's Freedom Movement.
- Physical, Social, and Economic Geography of India.
- Indian Constitution and Polity.
- Indian Economy.
- General Science and Technology.
- Indian Philosophy, Art, Literature, and Culture.
- Current Affairs and Sports.
- Environment.
2. General Knowledge of Chhattisgarh:
- History of Chhattisgarh and its contribution to the Freedom Movement.
- Geography, Climate, Physical Conditions, Census, Archaeological, and Tourist Centers of Chhattisgarh.
- Literature, Music, Dance, Art, and Culture, Proverbs (Janoula, Muhavare, Hana, Lokoktiyan) of Chhattisgarh.
- Tribes, Special Traditions, Teej, and Festivals of Chhattisgarh.
- Economy, Forest, and Agriculture of Chhattisgarh.
- Administrative Structure, Local Governance, and Panchayati Raj of Chhattisgarh.
- Industries, Energy, Water, and Mineral Resources of Chhattisgarh.
- Current Affairs of Chhattisgarh.
Part-2: General Computer Knowledge
(This section will have 15 questions for a total of 15 marks)
- Use of Computer – General knowledge of where and why computers are used.
- Main parts of Computer – General knowledge of CPU, input devices, output devices.
- Types of Printers – Inkjet, Laserjet, and other types of printers.
- Names of Operating Systems – MS DOS, Commercial and Open Source operating systems.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint under Microsoft Office for office use.
- Use of Internet – E-mail, Document serving, general knowledge of various government department websites.
- Use of Antivirus – Damage caused by computer viruses and general knowledge of computer viruses.
- Use of Multimedia – General knowledge of using audio, video, and text.
- General knowledge related to CD/DVD.
- General knowledge of Google, Altavista, YouTube – how to obtain desired information from search engines.
Part-3: General Mental Ability
(This section will have 15 questions for a total of 15 marks)
Questions will be asked on the following:
- Reasoning, Relationship analysis, Analogy, Numerical Ability, etc.
- Generally, questions of this type are asked to test these factors: Identifying differences, Numerical series, Alphabet series, Letter-number and picture relationship analysis, Coded language, Hidden figures, Matching squares and arithmetic operations in pictures, various types of patterns, etc.
Part-4: General Mathematics
(This section will have 15 questions for a total of 15 marks)
Unit 1:
- Decimal System.
- Metric System, Measurements of Length, Area, Volume, Mass, Time.
- Numbers – Whole, Even, Odd, Prime numbers, Ascending and Descending order, Place Value.
- Common Fractions and Decimal Fractions.
- Comparison of fractions, converting decimal fractions to common fractions.
- Square Root – Methods of finding square root – Factorization and Division method, finding square root of numbers with decimals.
Unit 2:
- Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) – Definition of HCF and LCM, formulas for solving related problems.
- Average – Questions related to finding the average.
- Percentage – Meaning of percentage, questions related to converting percentage to decimal and decimal to percentage.
- Speed, Time, Distance – Questions related to finding speed, time, and distance.
Unit 3:
- Simple Interest – Definition of simple interest, questions related to it.
- Profit and Loss – Cost price, Selling price, Profit, Loss, expressing them in percentage and rupees.
- Ratio and Proportion – Division into proportional parts.
- Percentage – Birth and death rates, population increase, decrease.
Unit 4:
- Lines and Angles – Line segment, straight and curved lines, types of angles.
- Plane Figures – Triangle, Quadrilateral, and Circle.
Unit 5:
- Area of Plane Figures – Triangle, Rectangle, Parallelogram, and Trapezium.
- Volume of Solids – Length, Width, Height, Area, Cube, and Cuboid.
Part-5: General Hindi
(This section will have 15 questions for a total of 15 marks)
- Vowels, Consonants, Spelling.
- Gender, Number, Tense.
- Practical Use of Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb.
- Compound – Formation and Types.
- Sandhi – Vowel, Consonant, and Visarga Sandhi.
- Grammatical Errors.
- Word Types – Tatsam, Tadbhav, Deshaj, Foreign.
- Synonyms, Antonyms, One Word Substitution.
- Idioms and Proverbs.
Part-6: General English
(This section will have 15 questions for a total of 15 marks)
UNIT-I English Grammar:
- Number, Gender, Articles.
- Pronoun, Adjectives, Verb.
- Use of some important conjunctions.
- Use of some Important Prepositions.
UNIT-2 Transformation of Sentences:
- Active Passive Voice.
- Direct Indirect Narration.
UNIT-3 Vocabulary:
- Synonyms/Antonyms.
- One Word Substitution.
- Spellings.
I. Scheme for Skill Test for the post of Junior Judicial Assistant & Junior Judicial Assistant (Computer)
(A) Junior Judicial Assistant (Computer)
- Total marks for Skill Test: 50 Marks
- English Typing test: A passage of 500 words to be typed in 20 minutes (50 Marks)
- Marks to be deducted for each mistake: 1/4 Marks
(B) Junior Judicial Assistant
- Total marks for Skill Test: 50 Marks
- English Typing test: A passage of 300 words to be typed in 10 minutes (25 Marks)
- Hindi Typing test: A passage of 250 words to be typed in 10 minutes (25 Marks)
- Marks to be deducted for each mistake: 1/4 Marks
General Information for Skill Tests:
- The test shall be conducted in "Open Source Operating System (Ubuntu) with Word Processor Libre Office".
- The selection lists for both posts will be prepared solely on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the skill tests.
