Application Process and Account Management

Q1: What is the process for creating an account? Under the 'Apply' button, select 'Create an Account', and enter all required details including your mobile number and email ID. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email for verification.

Q2: What is required to 'Create an Account'? Candidates must have their own active mobile number and a valid personal email ID.

Q3: I created an account for CEN 08/2024 or a subsequent CEN. Should I create another one for CEN 09/2025? No. Candidates who have already created an account in 2024 or 2025 for any notification published by the Railway Recruitment Board do not need to create a new account. They should log in using the same username and password for CEN 09/2025.

Q4: Can I modify the details in my 'Create an Account' form? No, once an account is created, the candidate cannot modify any details entered in the 'Create an Account' form. However, in case of a genuine reason, the candidate can send a request email to rrb.help@csc.gov.in with necessary documents. Such cases will be examined, and necessary modifications will be made at the back-end level, and the candidate will be informed via their registered email ID.

Q5: What are the dates for modifying the application form? A modification window will be active from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026. Candidates can modify, change, or correct any details except for the information filled in the 'Create Account' form (including email ID and mobile number) and the selected RRB. A non-refundable online modification fee of ₹250/- is applicable for each occasion of modification.

Q6: Can I apply if my final results are expected after 02.03.2026? No. Candidates awaiting final results of the prescribed educational/technical/vocational qualifications are not eligible to apply. They must possess the required qualifications on or before the last date of online application submission.

Q7: Can I use a mobile phone to fill out the application? It is not recommended as some features of the application module may not work correctly on mobile platforms. Using a desktop/laptop is advised.

Eligibility and Reservations

Q8: I have undergone LASIK surgery. Am I eligible to apply? Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are conditionally eligible for posts under Medical Standards A2 and A3. Please refer to Para 3.0 of the notification.

Q9: What is the crucial date for age calculation for this CEN? The crucial date for age calculation for CEN No. 09/2025 is 01.01.2026. For more details, refer to Paras 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3 of the detailed CEN.

Q10: What is the crucial date for claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS status? Candidates seeking reservation must ensure they have the valid caste/community certificate on the last date of online application submission (02.03.2026). The original certificate must be presented during document verification.

Q11: Who is eligible for the free travel pass (Free Railway Pass)? Only Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are eligible for the free travel pass.

Q12: I am an Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidate. What benefits are available? EBC candidates are eligible for a fee concession. EBCs are those with an annual family income of less than ₹50,000. Refer to Para 7.3 of the detailed CEN for more information.

Q13: I am currently serving in the armed forces. Can I apply as an Ex-Serviceman? You can apply as an Ex-Serviceman if you are due to be released from service within one year from the last date of application submission (i.e., on or before 02.03.2027). Refer to Para 10.2 of the detailed CEN.

Application Details and Submission

Q14: Can I apply for different posts in different RRBs? No, candidates are allowed to apply to only one RRB. Applying to more than one RRB will lead to the rejection of all applications and debarment from future RRB examinations.

Q15: Can I submit more than one application to the same RRB? No, this will also lead to the rejection of all applications and debarment.

Q16: Why is Aadhaar verification required? Aadhaar verification is necessary to ensure the authenticity of the candidate and to prevent impersonation during the examination.

Q17: What if I don't have an Aadhaar card? You can provide details of any of the following documents: Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Employer ID (Govt.), or School/College/University ID (if still studying). The selected document must be presented during CBT, performance tests, skill tests, document verification, and medical examination.

Q18: What documents need to be uploaded? All candidates must upload their scanned photograph and signature as per the specified formats. SC/ST candidates availing the free travel pass must also upload their caste certificate.

Q19: What are the specifications for the uploaded documents?

  • Caste Certificate: PDF format, less than 500 KB.
  • Photograph: JPEG format, between 40 KB and 70 KB (minimum 100 DPI resolution).
  • Signature: JPEG format, between 30 KB and 70 KB (minimum 100 DPI resolution).

Examination and Selection Process

Q20: What are the stages of the recruitment process? The process includes a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Translation Test (as applicable), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME). Refer to Para 14.0 to 14.3 of the detailed CEN.

Q21: Will there be negative marking in the CBT? Yes, there will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for every wrong answer in the CBT.

Q22: Where can I choose my preferred language for the examination? Candidates can select one language from the list of 15 available languages in the drop-down menu on the 'Personal Details' page.

Q23: Do I need to provide preferences for all the posts I am eligible for? Yes, candidates are advised to indicate their order of preference for all the posts for which they are eligible within the chosen RRB. If no preference is given for certain posts, it will be considered as unwillingness for those posts.

Fee Payment and Refund

Q24: Who is eligible for a fee refund? Only candidates who appear for the CBT are eligible for a fee refund (after deducting applicable bank charges). Please note that the modification fee is non-refundable.

Q25: What is the refund policy? Fee payment is non-refundable. The refundable portion of the fee (as per Para 7.0 of the detailed CEN) is applicable only to candidates who attend the CBT. No refund will be given for incorrect, incomplete, or rejected applications, or for non-attendance in the CBT.
