Online applications are invited for direct recruitment to the following non-teaching ministerial Group C posts at Delhi Technological University.

  • The number of vacancies are indicative and may be increased or decreased. The number of posts advertised is provisional and can be varied as per the requirement of the University.
  • Candidates reserved for PwBD category can be from any other category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS).

Essential Qualifications and Age Limit

1. Junior Office Assistant (JOA) (Level -2, Entry Pay Rs.19900/- 7th CPC)

  • Essential & other qualifications required for Direct Recruitment:
    • Bachelor Degree from a recognized university.
    • Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer (corresponding to 10500 KDPH and 9000 KDPH respectively on an average of five (05) key depressions for each word).
  • Age limit for Direct Recruitment: 32 years

2. Office Assistant (OA) / Data Entry Operator (DEO) (Level -4, Entry Pay Rs.25500/- 7th CPC)

  • Essential & other qualifications required for Direct Recruitment:
    • Bachelor Degree from a recognized university with at least two years of relevant experience in Level-2 (7th CPC) in a Central/State Government/University/R&D Institution/Autonomous Body/Public Sector Undertaking.
    • Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer (corresponding to 10500 KDPH and 9000 KDPH respectively on an average of five (05) key depressions for each word).
  • Age limit for Direct Recruitment: 35 years

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The Educational Qualification, Experience, Age and other eligibility conditions stipulated in the advertisement shall be determined as on 2025-11-30 (Closing date of online application form).
  • Age Limit: As mentioned against each post. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be 2025-11-30 (Closing date of online application form).

Mode of Selection for Direct Recruitment Posts

  • Examination Scheme: A Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted.

  • The Examination (Written Test / CBT) questions will be in English only.
  • Negative Marking will be applicable, and a deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each wrong MCQ answer.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of Answer Sheets/Answer Scripts.
  • DTU reserves the right to cancel/withdraw/delete any question/questions from the Test.
  • Minimum qualifying marks will be fixed for different categories (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD).
  • Provisional selection will be based on information provided in the application and documents.
  • In case of equal marks in the written test / CBT, the candidate older in age will be given preference.

Syllabus Details

  • General Awareness: Current Events (National & International), History, Polity, Constitution, Sports, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, Everyday Science, Scientific Research, National/International Organizations/Institutions, Higher Education System (UGC and AICTE Regulations, General Financial Rules, Fundamental Rules and Services Rules, General Office Procedures.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship, Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series etc.
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: Simplification, Decimals, Data Interpretation, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs etc.
  • English Language & Comprehension: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Usage of Words.

Skill Test

  • The skill test will be of qualifying nature.
  • Candidates obtaining qualifying marks in the Written Test / CBT will be called for the skill test.
  • There will be separate written test and skill test for each post.
  • The syllabus for the written test is the same for JOA and OA/DEO posts, but the difficulty level will differ.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in Written Test / CBT for Skill Test

Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks OR be among the top ten times the number of posts advertised for their respective categories (whichever is lower) to be eligible for the skill test:

  • General/EWS: 40%
  • OBC(Delhi): 35%
  • SC/ST/PH (PwBD): 30%

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of NCT of Delhi/DTU norms. Crucial date for determining age limit is the last date for receipt of applications.

11. Contractual Employees of DTU One-time relaxation of upper age limit up to a maximum period of 05 years.
  • Ex-servicemen already secured employment under Central Government/Delhi Government/Autonomous Bodies in Group C and D may avail age relaxation benefits for higher grade/cadre but not reservation benefits.
  • Age relaxation for Physically Handicapped (PwBD) candidates is applicable irrespective of whether the post is reserved or not.
  • No age relaxation will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC for general vacancies.
  • Cumulative age relaxation may be allowed as per Government norms, subject to a ceiling of 56 years of age.

Examination Fees and Mode of Payment

  • For Gen/OBC category candidates: Rs.1500/-
  • For PwBD/EWS/EX-Servicemen/SC/ST candidates: Rs.750/-
  • The application fee will be accepted through online mode only.

General Instructions for all Candidates

  • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • The closing date for submission of online application is 2025-11-30.
  • Employment will be governed by the University's Acts, Statutes, Rules and Regulations.
  • Eligible candidates may apply online through the website www.dtu.ac.in from 2025-11-10 up to 2025-11-30.
  • Candidates must carefully read the instructions for applying online.
  • Applications must be submitted online, and all columns must be filled.
  • After submitting online applications, candidates should take a printout of the registration-cum-application form and produce it along with self-attested copies of certificates/documents at the time of document verification.
  • Self-attested copies of Educational & Professional Qualifications and Experience must be uploaded on the DTU Portal.
  • The crucial date for determining the age limit for direct recruitment posts is the last date for receipt of applications.
  • Fulfillment of minimum qualification conditions does not guarantee being called for the recruitment process.
  • The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all advertised posts, and to cancel or modify the advertisement or part of it at any stage.
  • Examination centers will be in Delhi/NCR.
  • The number of vacancies is indicative and may be increased or decreased.
  • All appointments under direct recruitment mode are on a temporary basis but are likely to continue.
  • Reservation benefits will be available to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH (PwBD) categories as per Government of NCT of Delhi instructions. SC/ST candidates from other States/UTs are also eligible for reservation benefits as per Hon'ble High Court of Delhi judgment.
  • Candidates seeking reservation/age relaxation must possess relevant certificates (EWS/SC/ST/OBC (Delhi)-Non Creamy Layer (NCL)/PwBD/Educational/Experience etc.) issued by the competent authority as of the closing date of online application (2025-11-30).
  • Only OBC (Delhi) candidates, as notified by Govt. of NCT of Delhi, will be given reservation/age relaxation. OBC (Outside Delhi) candidates will be treated as un-reserved (UR) candidates.
  • OBC (Delhi) candidates must possess a non-creamy layer certificate issued on or after 2025-04-01 but not later than the closing date of online application.
  • EWS candidates must furnish a self-attested copy of a valid Income & Asset certificate issued on or after 2025-04-01 but not later than the closing date of online application.
  • Abbreviations used: UR (Un-Reserved), SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribes), OBC (Other Backward Classes), EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), PH (PwBD) (Physically Handicapped), VH (Visually Handicapped), LV (Low Vision), OH (Orthopedically Handicapped), BL (Both Leg), OA (One Arm), OL (One Leg), OAL (One Arm and One Leg), HH (Hearing Handicapped).
  • Candidates applying for more than one post should submit separate application forms and fees.
  • Persons already in government employment must submit their application through the proper channel.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the examination/skill test.
  • Use of Calculator, Laptop, Palmtop, Bluetooth devices, earbuds, camera, other Digital Instrument/ Mobile/ Cell phone, Pager/ electronic watches and any metallic items etc. are strictly prohibited inside the Examination Centre.
  • Any notification/corrigendum/addendum will be published on the University (DTU) website.
  • A Scribe Form will be required for applicants needing a scribe, with extra time provided as per Delhi Government Norms.

  • Any dispute regarding recruitment will be subject to the Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction over Delhi.

Instructions for Registration of Online Application Form & Submission of Application

  • Candidates should ensure they fulfill all eligibility conditions.
  • Enter Name, Father's Name, and Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation certificate.
  • Signatures on all documents must be identical.
  • The online application process involves two steps: Registration and Submission of Application along with fee payment.
  • Candidates are advised to apply well before the last date to avoid technical issues.
  • Maintain an active E-MAIL ID and Mobile Number, as all communications (Registration number, Password, e-Admit Card, E-Call Letter, etc.) will be sent via email/SMS.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the DTU website regularly for updates.
  • The e-Admit Card for any stage of selection will not be sent by post.
  • Candidates must fill the online application and upload the following:
    • Educational Qualification details with percentage of marks.
    • Caste/Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD candidates).
    • Discharge Certificate (Retirement) in case of Ex-Serviceman Candidate.
    • Dependency Certificate (Servicemen killed in action).
    • Scanned Photograph, Signature.

Instructions for Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • E-Admit Card for CBT, with exam center details, will be sent to registered email IDs. Candidates must print their Admit Card.
  • Candidates must carry the printed e-Admit Card and one valid photo ID (Voter's ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN, etc.) in ORIGINAL.
  • Candidates must report to the examination center at least one and a half hours before the exam; entry gates will close half an hour before the commencement.
  • Banned items such as calculators, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, laptops, smartwatches, books, wallets, metallic wear, etc., are strictly prohibited inside the examination center. No safekeeping facility will be available.
  • Provisionally eligible candidates will be issued e-Admit Cards for the CBT at their own expense.
