Background Information
Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur has issued a notice concerning candidates who were shortlisted for Document Verification (DV) for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) under CEN No-01/2024. These candidates subsequently underwent Medical Examination at Railway Hospitals after their DV at the Chairman's office, Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur.
Medical Unfit Status
As per the medical reports received from the Railway Hospitals, certain candidates have been found unfit in the prescribed medical category. Procedure for Medical Appeal
In accordance with instructions outlined in Railway Board's letter No.2014/H/5/8/(Policy), Dated:07.07.2017, candidates who have been declared medically unfit are permitted to submit an appeal.
Appeal Submission Guidelines
- Submission Deadline: Candidates wishing to appeal against the medical committee's decision must submit their appeal to the Principal Chief Medical Director, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, within 30 days from the date of issue of this information, providing due justification. The explicit deadline for sending the appeal to the Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur is 12/12/2025.

Required Documents for Appeal
An appeal will only be considered if the candidate submits the following three documents:
- Medical Certificate (Annexure-A): A medical certificate issued by a Government/Private doctor specializing in the field where the candidate was found unfit. This certificate must include a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the specific medical category and acknowledges that the candidate was previously declared unfit by an appropriate medical board of three Senior Railway Doctors.
- The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and identification marks, duly attested by the issuing authority.
- The issuing authority must clearly state their full name, designation, address, and Medical Council of India/State registration number.
- Appeal with Justifications (Annexure-B): An appeal document, duly signed by the candidate, including their Roll No., Registration No., and date of Document Verification.
- Demand Draft: A Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) drawn in favour of "FA & CAO, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur."
