The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board, Jaipur, invites online applications for direct recruitment to Primary School Teacher (General/Sanskrit Education) (Level-1, Class 1 to 5) posts. This recruitment is conducted under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Rules-1996 (as amended), Rajasthan Sanskrit Education State and Subordinate Services School Branch Rules 2015 (as amended), and Rajasthan Scheduled Area Subordinate, Ministerial and Class IV Services (Recruitment and Other Service Conditions) Rules-2014.

Note: Candidates applying for Primary School Teacher Level-1 (General Education) posts in both Primary Education and Sanskrit Education Departments must submit a single application. Preference for departments must be indicated. A separate application is required for Sanskrit Education Department's Primary Teacher Level-1 (Sanskrit Education) posts.

Application Fee (One Time Registration - OTR)

Candidates must pay a one-time registration fee through e-Mitra kiosks, Jan Suvidha Kendras, Net Banking, ATM cum Debit Card, and Credit Card.

  • General/Other Backward Class (Creamy Layer)/Most Backward Class (Creamy Layer): INR 600/-
  • Rajasthan's Non-Creamy Layer OBC/MBC, SC/ST, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Persons with Disability (PwD): INR 400/-

Note: Applicants from outside Rajasthan will be treated as General category candidates for this recruitment and must pay the General category fee. Candidates who have already paid the OTR fee previously are not required to pay again. A debarment policy applies to candidates who miss two exams in a financial year.

Eligibility Criteria (Educational & Professional Qualifications)

Candidates must possess the following minimum educational and professional qualifications as per Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Rules-1996 (Rule 266(3)) and Rajasthan Sanskrit Education State and Subordinate Services School Branch Rules 2015, and NCTE notifications dated August 23, 2010, and July 29, 2011:

For Primary School Teacher (General Education) Level-1, Class 1 to 5:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations-2002). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR
  • Graduation and a 2-year D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known).
  • AND Must have passed the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET).

For Primary School Teacher (Sanskrit Education) Level-1, Class 1 to 5:

  • Senior Upadhyaya (or equivalent Traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Upadhyaya (or equivalent Traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulations-2002). OR
  • Senior Upadhyaya (or equivalent Traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). OR
  • Shastri (or equivalent Traditional Sanskrit examination) and a 2-year D.El.Ed. (by whatever name known).
  • AND Must have passed the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET).

Note: The minimum percentage marks at the Senior Secondary level will not apply to candidates admitted to the 2-year D.El.Ed. course before July 29, 2011. For those admitted on or after this date, a minimum of 50% marks in Senior Secondary is mandatory. All candidates must have passed REET-2022 (Level-1) or REET-2025 (Level-1) with the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the State Government's orders dated December 16, 2020, and September 19, 2025.

Eligibility for all qualifications (educational, professional, and REET) must be acquired by the last date of application for General Education posts, and by the exam date for Sanskrit Education posts. Qualifications acquired after these dates will not be valid.

Age Limit (as on January 01, 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years

Age Relaxation:

  • General/Other State Females: 5 years
  • Rajasthan SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS Males: 5 years
  • Rajasthan SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS Females: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 15 years (maximum age 50 or 55, depending on post)
  • Panchayat Secretaries: Up to 3 years, equivalent to service period.
  • Widows & Divorced Women: No upper age limit (up to superannuation).
  • Persons with Disability: Additional 5 years over and above category-wise relaxation.

Note: Age relaxations are non-cumulative, except for PwD candidates.

Reservation

  • Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Most Backward Classes (MBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): Reservation benefits will be provided as per rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on a competitive examination. A state-level merit list will be prepared. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification by the respective departments. Final selection will be based on merit and verified documents.

Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of a tie in marks, the candidate with an earlier birth date will be preferred. If birth dates are also same, the candidate with a higher academic qualification will be preferred. If academic qualifications and birth dates are same, the candidate with a higher percentage in their academic qualification will be preferred. If all these factors are same, the candidate who passed their academic qualification earlier will be preferred.

Examination Scheme

  • Number of Questions: 150 (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Online Application Instructions

  • Candidates must apply online via the SSO Portal (http://sso.rajasthan.gov.in) by logging into Citizen Apps (G2C) and selecting Recruitment Portal.
  • Complete One Time Registration (OTR) and pay the fee if not done already.
  • Carefully fill OTR details (category, disability, home state) as options in the online application will be based on these details.
  • Live photo capture and filling visible body mark are mandatory.
  • No modifications to OTR details will be allowed in the application form.
  • Ensure accurate information in the online application. Incorrect/incomplete information may lead to rejection.
  • Keep a printout of the application form and the application ID for future reference.
  • Do not use any portal or facility other than the official one for OTR fee submission.
  • Mobile number and email ID must be kept active for important communications.

Application Form Correction

  • No offline requests for corrections will be accepted.
  • Name, father's name, date of birth, gender corrections are possible by fetching data from Aadhaar/Jan Aadhaar.
  • Category, PwD, and domicile can be corrected on the OTR page.
  • Other information (excluding OTR-fed details) can be corrected online within 3 days after the application deadline by paying INR 300/-.
  • A final opportunity for corrections (excluding OTR-fed details) will be provided for 7 days before/after the examination date with a prescribed fee.

Other Important Notes

  • Government employees must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
  • Disqualifications include having more than one living spouse, accepting dowry, or having more than two children after June 01, 2002 (with certain exceptions).
