  • Junior Engineer / Electrical (Cat. Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / Electrical, Junior Engineer / Electrical EMU & TRS, Junior Engineer / Electrical / TRD, Junior Engineer / Electrical / General Services, Junior Engineer / Electrical (Workshop).
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Three years Diploma in (a) Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
  • Junior Engineer / Civil (Cat. Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / Civil (P. Way & Bridge), Junior Engineer / Civil (Design, Drawing and Estimation), Junior Engineer / Civil (Works), Junior Engineer / Civil / Workshop.
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering of three years duration OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
  • Junior Engineer / Mechanical (Cat. Nos. 10, 11)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / Track Machine, Junior Engineer / Carriage and Wagon.
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: (a) Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation and Control Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
  • Junior Engineer / Mechanical (Workshop, Power, Diesel Mechanical, Welder) (Cat. Nos. 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / Mechanical (Design and Workshop), Junior Engineer / Mechanical / Power, Junior Engineer / Diesel Mechanical, Junior Engineer / Diesel Mechanical (Workshop), Junior Engineer / Mechanical and Mechanical (Workshop), Junior Engineer / Welder.
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Three years Diploma in (a) Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Industrial / Machining / Instrumentation and Control / Tools and Machining / Tools and Die Making / Automobile / Production Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Industrial / Machining / Instrumentation and Control / Tools and Machining / Tools and Die Making / Automobile / Production Engineering from a recognised University/Institute.
  • Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant (Cat. No. 18)

    • Post: Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant.
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: B.Sc degree in Physics and Chemistry with minimum of 45% marks from a recognized University / Institute with any of the following:
      • (a) B.Sc with Physics as major/specialization/Honours subject and Chemistry as a subject.
      • (b) B.Sc with Chemistry as major/specialization/Honours subject and Physics as a subject.
      • (c) B.Sc with any other Science subject (including but not limited to Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics) as a major/ specialization/Honours subject and both Physics and Chemistry as subjects in the course.
  • Junior Engineer / Diesel Electrical (Cat. Nos. 19, 20)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / Diesel Electrical, Junior Engineer / Diesel Electrical (Workshop).
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Three years Diploma in (a) Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from a recognised University / Institute.
  • Junior Engineer / S&T (Signal, Telecommunication, Research/Instrumentation, Design/Drawing & Estimation, Workshop) (Cat. Nos. 21, 22, 23, 24, 25)

    • Posts: Junior Engineer / S and T / Signal, Junior Engineer / S and T / Telecommunication, Junior Engineer / Research / Instrumentation, Junior Engineer / S and T / Design Drawing and Estimation, Junior Engineer / S and T (Workshop).
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Three years Diploma in (a) Electrical / Electronics / Information Technology / Communication Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering OR (b) a combination of any sub stream of basic streams of Electrical / Electronics / Information Technology / Communication Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering / Computer Science / Computer Engineering from a recognized University / Institute.
  • Depot Material Superintendent (Cat. No. 26)

    • Post: Depot Material Superintendent.
    • Minimum Educational Qualifications: Three Years Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized University / Institution.

General Information

  • Level in 7th CPC: All posts are at Level 6 in the 7th CPC.
  • Medical Standard: Various medical standards (C1, A3, B1) apply depending on the post.
  • Suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disability: The document specifies suitability for different categories of disabilities (VI, HI, LD, OD, MD) with specific conditions like OL, LC, DW, AAV, SD/SI, OA (with or without N/L Df).

Important Note on Higher Qualifications

Higher Qualifications such as B.E/B. Tech are also acceptable in lieu of Three years Diploma in Engineering in the same Discipline.
