CEN 05/2024: Medical Certificate Proforma for Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) Candidates

This notice, in continuation of the one dated 16.12.2025, provides the proforma for a Medical Certificate to be obtained by Ex-Servicemen candidates for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for Station Master posts.

Applicability Criteria:

  • This proforma is specifically for Ex-Servicemen candidates who are 35 years of age or above as on the date of their medical fitness test.
  • Candidates must obtain this certificate from an Eye Specialist.
  • If an ExSM candidate's age is less than 35 years, the proforma as per Annexure-VI of CEN No. 05/2024 will be applicable instead.

Important Instructions for Shortlisted ExSM Candidates:

  • Shortlisted ExSM candidates must produce the original Medical Certificate at the time of entry for CBAT. Failure to do so will result in not being permitted to appear in the CBAT.
  • Candidates are strongly advised to refer only to the official websites of the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) for the latest updates regarding the recruitment process. Please do not be misled by unauthenticated sources.
  • A warning has been issued against touts who attempt to deceive candidates with false promises of job appointments in exchange for illegal considerations. RRB selections are based solely on the merit of candidates as determined by the Computer Based Test (CBT).

Vision Standards for Station Master (Class A-2):

  • Distant Vision: 6/12, 6/12 or 6/9, 6/18 with or without glasses. Naked eye vision not less than 6/60. Power of lens not to exceed 6 D.
  • Near Vision: The combined near vision with or without glasses should be the ability to read ordinary print. Where reading or close work is required, combined near vision with or without glasses should be Sn. 0.6.
  • Colour Vision: Normal (Ishihara).

The certificate includes sections for the Eye Specialist to confirm the candidate's vision conformity to these standards.
