About the Application Process

  • Opening Date of Application: 21-10-2025
  • Closing Date for Submission of Online Application: 20-11-2025 at 23:59 Hrs.
  • Last Date for Payment of Application Fee: 22-11-2025
  • Modification Window for Application: From 23-11-2025 to 02-12-2025. A non-refundable modification fee of Rs. 250/- will be charged for each occasion. Details filled in the 'Create an Account' form and the 'Chosen RRB' cannot be modified.
  • Eligibility for Candidates Awaiting Final Results: Candidates whose final results are expected after 20-11-2025 are not eligible to apply. Prescribed educational/technical qualifications must be possessed on or before the closing date for application submission.
  • Requirements to 'Create an Account': Candidates must have their own mobile number and a valid, active personal email ID.
  • Multiple Accounts for Different CENs: If you created an account for CEN 01/2025 (or any RRB notification in 2024 or 2025), you are not required to create another account for CEN 06/2025. Log in using the same username and password.
  • Procedure to 'Create an Account': Select 'Create an Account' under the 'Apply Button', enter required details including mobile number and email ID. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email for submission.
  • Editing 'Create an Account' Details: Details entered in the 'Create an Account' form cannot be edited once the account is created.
  • Next Steps After 'Create an Account': Log in to rrbapply.gov.in using RRB or AADHAAR credentials. The application process has five sections: Personal Details, Other Details, Educational Qualification, Upload Profile Documents, and Preview & Preference & Submit. Twelve details filled during account creation will pre-populate and cannot be edited. After completing all sections, submit the online application for payment. A confirmation will be sent via email and SMS. Candidates are advised to take a printout of the submitted application.
  • Mobile Usage for Application: It is advised to use a Desktop/Laptop as some features of the application module may not work properly on mobile platforms.
  • Login Procedure: Enter your registered mobile number and email ID, followed by your password and captcha, then submit.

Application Details and Modifications

  • Pay Levels in CEN 06/2025: There are three pay levels, from Level-6 to Level-4.
  • How to Apply: Refer to Para 14.1 to 14.5.2 of the detailed CEN for comprehensive instructions. Read all information carefully to prevent mistakes.
  • Use of Application Registration Number: Candidates should note and remember their Registration Number for future recruitment stages and correspondence with RRBs. Refer to Para 16.0 (b) (iv) of the Detailed CEN 06/2025.
  • Crucial Date for PwBD Certificate: PwBD candidates must possess their disability certificate on or before the closing date of online application, i.e., 20-11-2025.
  • Applying to Different RRBs: Candidates are allowed to apply for only one RRB.
  • Applying to More Than One RRB: Doing so will result in the rejection of all applications and debarment from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.
  • Applying Multiple Times to the Same RRB: This will also lead to rejection of all applications and debarment from future exams.
  • Eligibility After LASIK Surgery: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are eligible for posts requiring Medical Standards B2 & C2. Refer to Note (c) of Para 3.0 of CEN 06/2025.
  • DigiLocker/Aadhaar Verification: This is required for a smoother process at different recruitment stages, to ensure genuineness of candidature, and to curb impersonation during CBTs. RRBs will not share Aadhaar details with third parties. If applicants verify their identity with alternate Photo IDs, they will be subjected to stricter scrutiny.
  • No Aadhaar: Candidates are advised to authenticate their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar during the 'Create an Account' stage or via the 'Verify Aadhaar' facility during application details filling. This must be completed before final submission. If alternative Photo IDs are used, stricter scrutiny will apply.
  • Document for Name Change: Applicants must possess a Gazette Notification or relevant legal documentation for name changes and be prepared to present it at Document Verification (DV). The original and changed names should be filled during 'Create an Account'.
  • Forgot Password: On the login page, click 'Forgot Password'. Enter your date of birth and registered email/mobile number. A revised password will be sent to your registered email. After logging in, you can create a new password using the 'Change Password' option.
  • Changing Password: Yes, after logging in with your old password, you can change it using the 'Change Password' option.
  • Changing 'Chosen RRB': No, you cannot change your chosen RRB after submitting the application.
  • Editing Details During Application Process: Any details other than those entered during 'Create an Account' can be edited until the application is submitted and a registration number is generated.
  • Correcting Community/Caste: Editing details is allowed during the modification window period only by paying the prescribed fee. After the modification window closes, editing is not permitted. You must submit your Community and Caste as per the online application during DV; otherwise, your candidature will be considered under the 'Unreserved' category (subject to eligibility conditions).
  • Editing Application Details After Submission but Before Payment: No, you cannot edit application details after submission before making payment. Re-check details in the preview. If any information is incorrect, use the 'Edit' button before final payment submission. If modifications are needed after payment (except for 'Create an Account' and 'Chosen RRB' details), a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) is applicable during the modification window.

Fee and Concessions

  • Eligibility for 'Free Travel Authority' (Free Railway Pass): Only Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are eligible.
  • Availing 'Free Travel Authority': SC/ST candidates should select 'Yes' for free rail travel pass and fill in 'Nearest Railway Station' when filling out the online application. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.
  • Receiving Free Travel Facility: For eligible SC/ST candidates, the City Intimation Slip/e-call letter will contain the free travel authority (sleeper class railway pass). They can book train reservations by submitting a self-attested photocopy of their slip/e-call letter and SC/ST certificate at the ticket booking counter. Refer to Para 19.0 (e) of CEN No. 06/2025 for details.
  • Uploading Caste Certificate Issues: Ensure the scanned document is in PDF format and its size is below 400 KB.
  • Definition of EBC (Economically Backward Class): EBC candidates are those whose annual family income is less than Rs. 50,000/-, or holders of BPL Card or any other certificate issued by the Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation program, or holders of Izzat MST issued by Railways. Do not confuse EBC with Other Backward Class or Extremely Backward Class.
  • Benefits for EBC Candidates: EBC candidates are given 'Fee concession'. Refer to Para 7.3 of the detailed CEN No. 06/2025.
  • Failure to Produce EBC Certificate: If a candidate availed fee concession as EBC, they must have a valid Income Certificate (as per Annexure III A of the CEN), BPL Card, or other relevant certificate issued by the Central Government/Railways before online application submission. This certificate must be submitted at DV; otherwise, their candidature will be rejected. Refer to Para 7.3 for complete information.
  • Reservation for EBC: No, EBC candidates are eligible only for fee concession; there is no reservation of posts.
  • Who is Included Under Minorities: Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) given minority status by the State/UT where the candidate belongs, subject to official rules.
  • Benefits for Minority Candidates and Failure to Produce Affidavit: Minority candidates are given 'Fee concession' only, not reservation benefits. Those claiming fee waiver must submit an affidavit for minority community declaration (as per Annexure IV of the CEN) on non-judicial stamp paper at DV; otherwise, their candidature will be rejected.
  • Criteria for EWS Reservation: Refer to Para 8.13 of the detailed CEN No. 06/2025 available on the official websites of RRBs.
  • Eligibility for Fee Concession: SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, female, transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class candidates are eligible for fee relaxation.
  • Crucial Date for Age Reckoning: 01-01-2026 for CEN-06/2025.
  • Crucial Date for Educational Qualification: Educational/technical qualification must be possessed on or before 20-11-2025. Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible.
  • Crucial Date to Claim SC/ST/OBC/EWS Status: Community/category status as on the closing date of application (20-11-2025) will be considered for reservation and benefits. No change thereafter. Candidates must produce original caste/community certificates in the prescribed format at DV, valid as on 20-11-2025.
  • Serving in Armed Forces and Applying as Ex-Serviceman: Armed services personnel must submit an 'Employment certificate with probable date of discharge' (as per Annexure VI (A)) valid as on the closing date of application. A self-declaration/undertaking (as per Annexure VI) for Ex-servicemen benefits must be submitted at DV.
  • Secured Civil Employment as Ex-Serviceman: If you have already secured civil employment in Group 'C' & erstwhile Group 'D' under the Central Government (including PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, Nationalized Banks, etc.) after availing Ex-Servicemen benefits, you will only be permitted the benefit of age relaxation for securing another civil employment in a higher grade/cadre. Such candidates will not be considered against reserved vacancies for Ex-Servicemen. Refer to Para 10.0 to 10.6 of the detailed CEN No. 06/2025.

Documents and Verification

  • NOC at Document Verification: Candidates serving in Central/State Government Departments (including Railways or PSUs) must inform their employer and produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at DV. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of candidature. Refer to Para 12.0 of the notification.
  • NOC Requirement After Joining Government Service: Even if you join Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings after application submission, you are still required to produce an NOC at DV, failing which your candidature/empanelment will be cancelled.
  • Benchmark Disability for PwBD: To be considered a Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), the disability should be 40% or more.
  • PwBD Applying Against Unreserved Vacancies: PwBD candidates can apply against unreserved vacancies for posts suitable for their disability (as indicated in Annexure-A), and are eligible for age and fee concession.
  • Suitability of Disabilities for Posts: Refer to the 'Post wise Parameters Table (Annexure-A)' under the column "Suitability for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities" for details on specified sub-categories of disability.
  • Scribe Facility for PwBD in CBT:
    • For Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arm affected – BA), and Cerebral Palsy, a scribe can be provided if desired.
    • For other categories of PwBD, a scribe can be allowed upon production of a certificate from a Government Health Care institution stating physical limitation to write.
    • Candidates can avail assistance after producing the certificate (Annexure V (G)) and submitting an undertaking (Annexure V (D)).
    • Eligible candidates wishing to avail scribe facility must opt for it in their online application and arrange the scribe at their own cost.
  • Availing Scribe Facility for CBT:
    • Scribe-eligible candidates must ensure their scribe is registered with RRBs at rrbapply.gov.in (refer to Para 11.7.7 of Detailed CEN-06/2025).
    • Log on to the application portal during the 5-day window provided immediately after the Modification Window closes to furnish scribe details.
    • Enter your scribe's One-Time Registration (OTR) Number (an OTP will be sent to your scribe's registered mobile number).
    • Enter the OTP sent to confirm the scribe.
  • Procedure for Scribe Registration: Any person engaged as a scribe must register on the RRB portal at rrbapply.gov.in by navigating to 'Home page → Scribe Registration'. An OTR number will be generated and sent to the scribe's registered mobile number. Only registered scribes with valid OTR numbers are permitted. Refer to Para 11.7.8 and 14.6 of the Detailed CEN-06/2025.
  • Documents to be Uploaded: All candidates must upload their scanned signature as per prescribed specifications. SC/ST candidates must upload their Caste Certificate to avail Free Travel Pass.
  • Size of Documents to be Uploaded:
    • Caste Certificate: Up to 400 KB in PDF format.
    • Signature: Minimum 100 DPI resolution, dimensions: Minimum 140 pixels (width) x 60 pixels (height). File size: 30 KB to 49 KB in JPG/JPEG format. The scanned signature must be positioned within a designated scan box (35 mm width x 20 mm height) and centered. Refer to Para No.14.5.1 of CEN No. 06/2025.

Other Important Information

  • Fee Payment Method: Fees can be paid ONLINE through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI services. Processing charges and GST are applicable in addition to the fees.
  • Fees to Remit: Refer to Para 7.0 of CEN No. 06/2025 for details on fees.
  • Recruitment Process Stages and Schedules: The recruitment process involves 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test (as applicable), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME). Information on CBT schedules and venues will be provided to eligible candidates via RRB websites, SMS, and Email. Requests for postponement or changes will not be entertained.
  • CBT Pattern and Syllabus: Refer to Para-13 of the detailed CEN.
  • Negative Marking: Yes, there will be negative marking of 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer in CBT.
  • Choice of Language for Examination: Candidates can choose one language from the list available in the drop-down menu under the 'Personal Details' page.
  • Order of Preference for Posts: Candidates are advised to indicate their order of preference for as many posts as they are eligible for in the chosen RRB. Partial preferences will result in consideration only for opted posts. If no preference is given, it implies unwillingness. Submitted preferences are final.
  • Contact for Application Queries: For queries related to submission of Application of CEN 06/2025, contact the helpline at 9592001188/01725653333 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days) or email rrb.help@csc.gov.in.
  • Confirmation of Application Submission: Final acceptance of the ONLINE application will occur only after receiving confirmation of fee payment, which will be communicated via email and SMS.
  • Fee Refund on Application Rejection: No refund of fee will be made if an application is rejected.
  • E-Call Letter and Acceptance at All Stages: Issuance of an E-call letter does not imply acceptance for all subsequent stages. Admission is provisional. Photograph, signature, and other credentials will be verified at CBT and subsequent stages (PET/Medical Examination/Document Verification).
  • Printing Application: Yes, candidates can take a printout of their application after payment of examination fees.
  • Procedure for Uploading Live Photograph: Candidates must capture a live photograph during the application process using a webcam or smartphone front camera. Pre-existing photos are not permitted. Follow on-screen guidelines for positioning, lighting, environment, and attire. Wear non-white (preferably dark) clothing. Ensure your face is clearly visible, centered in the frame, and not too close or far. Do not wear a cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles. Candidates can preview and retake photos until satisfied. Applications not complying with guidelines may be rejected. Appearance must match throughout the recruitment process. Refer to Para No.14.4 of CEN No. 06/2025.
  • Procedure for Uploading Signature: Upload a scanned copy of your signature, written by the candidate only, with a black ink pen on white paper. The signature must be in running handwriting (cursive/joined letters), not in BLOCK, CAPITAL, or DISJOINED letters. It must be clear, legible, and entirely visible within the scanned area. Refer to Para No.14.5.1 of CEN No. 06/2025 for specifications.
  • Vacancies Details: RRB-wise vacancies are provided in Annexure 'B'.
  • OBCs in State List and Central List Reservation: OBCs present in the State list but not covered in the central list of OBCs (as per the latest list in http://www.ncbc.nic.in) are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.
  • Adding Other Qualifications (Beyond Matriculation): Under the 'Qualification' section, select the relevant qualification, fill in the details, and click 'Add'.
  • Entering Date for Certificates with Only Month/Year: If only the month and year of passing are available on a qualification certificate, enter the last date of that month (e.g., May-2023 should be entered as 31-05-2023).
  • District/State Bifurcation: If a district/state has been bifurcated, the present district/state may be mentioned to avoid ambiguity.
