The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has invited online applications from male and female candidates for direct recruitment to the post of Computer Operator Grade-A. The pay scale is Pay Band-5200-20200, Grade Pay-2400, in the new pay matrix Level-4 (₹25,500 - ₹81,100).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the Intermediate examination with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board. AND Must have passed the 'O' level examination in computer from the Department of Electronics Accredited in Computer and Communication (DOEACC), Government of India, or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the government. OR Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Electronics Engineering from the Council of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any qualification recognized as equivalent by the government.

Note: Candidates who have appeared or are appearing for the qualifying examination are not eligible. The candidate must possess the required educational qualification by the last date of application.

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025)

Candidates must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have exceeded the age of 28 years.
This means the candidate should not have been born before 01-07-1997 and not after 01-07-2007.
Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST, and others) of Uttar Pradesh domicile as per government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by a computer typing test.

1. Written Examination

The written test will be an objective-type paper of 200 marks.
The total number of questions will be 160, and the duration will be 2 hours.
A minimum of 40% marks in the written test is required to qualify.

2. Computer Typing Test

This test is qualifying in nature.
Hindi Typing: Minimum speed of 25 words per minute on Unicode Inscript keyboard.
English Typing: Minimum speed of 30 words per minute.
A minimum of 85% accuracy is required to be declared successful.
