Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized university:

  • Bachelor of Planning
  • Post Graduate Diploma Course in Remote Sensing and GIS (Specialization in Urban and Regional Studies)
  • Master in Planning
  • Master in Town Planning
  • Master in Regional Planning
  • Master in Urban Planning
  • Master in City Planning
  • Master in Country Planning or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025):

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age:
    • Unreserved (Male): 37 years
    • BC/EBC (Male & Female) and Unreserved (Female): 40 years
    • SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for persons with disabilities, ex-servicemen, and regular government employees of Bihar.

Pay Scale

  • Pay Level-7 (Revised)

Selection Process

  • The selection will be based on a written examination. There will be no interview.
  • The written examination will consist of two objective-type papers.
  • Paper 1 (Compulsory): General Studies - 125 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
  • Paper 2 (Optional): Candidates must choose one of the following subjects:
    • Planning - 125 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
    • Remote Sensing and GIS (Specialization in Urban and Regional Studies) - 125 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% for General, 36.5% for BC, 34% for EBC, and 32% for SC/ST/Women/PwD candidates.

Application Fee

  • A fee of ₹100 is applicable for each candidate.
  • An additional biometric fee of ₹200 will be charged for candidates who do not use their Aadhaar number in the application.
  • Bank charges will be extra.

  2. Candidates are required to complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process before filling out the application form.
  3. Keep a valid email ID and mobile number active throughout the recruitment process.
