The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates for the selection test for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme. This provides an opportunity for the nation's youth to experience military life for a period of four years.

Eligibility Criteria

Age

  • Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply.
  • The upper age limit at the date of enrolment must be 21 years.

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period.

Educational Qualification

Science Subjects:

  • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • OR Passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Other than Science Subjects:

  • Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
  • OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Mandatory Medical Standards

  • Height: Minimum 152 cms for both male and female candidates. Relaxations apply for candidates from North East, hilly regions of Uttarakhand, and Lakshadweep.
  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
  • Chest: Well-proportioned with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.
  • Hearing: Normal hearing.
  • Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.
  • Visual Standards: 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6. Specific limits for refractive errors apply. Candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK will not be accepted.

Terms and Conditions

  • Enrolment Period: Four years under the Air Force Act 1950.
  • Pay and Allowances: A customized package starting at ₹30,000/- per month with a fixed annual increment. Risk, hardship, dress, and travel allowances will be paid as applicable.
  • Terminal Benefits (Seva Nidhi Package): A one-time package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (excluding interest) will be given upon completion of four years, comprising contributions from the individual and the government.
  • Leave: 30 days of annual leave and sick leave based on medical advice.
  • Insurance: Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the engagement period.

Selection Procedure

Phase I: Online Test

  • Science Subjects: 60 minutes test on Physics, Mathematics, and English (10+2 CBSE syllabus).
  • Other than Science Subjects: 45 minutes test on English and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
  • Science & Other Subjects: 85 minutes test covering Physics, Mathematics, English, and RAGA.
  • Marking Pattern: 1 mark for a correct answer, 0 for an unattempted question, and a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Phase II: Verification, PFT, and Adaptability Tests

  • Shortlisted candidates will be called to a designated Airmen Selection Centre (ASC).
  • Document Verification: Candidates must bring original documents as listed in the notification.
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
    • Male: 1.6 km run within 7 minutes, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats.
    • Female: 1.6 km run within 8 minutes, 10 sit-ups, 15 squats.
  • Adaptability Test-I & II: To assess suitability for the IAF environment and military life.

Phase III: Medical Examination

  • Candidates who qualify Phase II will undergo a medical examination as per IAF medical standards.
