Online applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens (Male & Female) for filling up 391 vacancies for the Non-Gazetted & Non-Ministerial post of Constable (General Duty) in Group "C" under Sports Quota. These posts are on a temporary basis but are likely to be made permanent in Border Security Force. Selected candidates will have All India liability and can be posted anywhere in India or abroad. The recruitment will be governed by the BSF Act 1968 and BSF Rule 1969. Applications must be submitted through ONLINE MODE only.

Pay Scale and Other Allowances
- Post: Constable (General Duty)
- Basic Pay: Level -3, Rs. 21,700-69,100/-
- Other Allowances: Admissible to Central Government employees from time to time.
- Pension Scheme: Candidates will be governed by the New Pension Scheme w.e.f. 2004-01-01 and other government schemes.
Eligibility Conditions
- Name of Post: CT(GD) Sportsperson
- Age: 18 to 23 years as on 2025-08-01. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules (details below).
- Essential Educational Qualification: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Sports Qualification: Candidates must have participated in or won medal(s) in competitions at the levels specified in Para 4(b) of the advertisement during the last two years from the closing date of the advertisement (2023-11-04 to 2025-11-04).
- Individual Event (International/National): Participation or medal(s) in International Sports events recognized by the International Olympic Association as a member of the Indian team, OR medal(s) in National Games/Championship/National Open Championship recognized by Indian Olympic Association, Sports Federation (of concerned sports) in Junior National Level Championship/Championship held between 2023-11-04 and 2025-11-04.
- Team Event (International/National): Won any medal in National Games/Championship (Junior and senior) / any recognized sports meet of respective Federation/Association recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports or conducted by the Indian Olympic Association during 2023-11-04 and 2025-11-04 while representing state/UT/Sports Control Board. The sportsperson must be a playing member of the team (this condition does not apply to international medals).
- Note: Only Matriculation certificate is accepted for age proof. All eligibility conditions and certificates must be possessed on the date of Recruitment. Educational certificates other than Central/State Board must be accompanied by Government notifications of equivalence.

Medical Standards
Medical examination will be as per revised MHA guidelines.
- Eye Sight: Minimum distance vision of 6/6 & 6/9 for both eyes without correction (no spectacles or lenses). Colour blind persons are not eligible. Candidates must not have knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins, or squint eyes. Good mental and bodily health is required.
- Tattoo: Permitted if depicting religious symbols/figures/names (as per Indian Army standards). Location should be traditional sites like the inner aspect of the forearm (left forearm only) or dorsum of the hands. Size must be less than 1/4 of the particular part (Elbow or Hand).

- Candidates must upload a copy of their sports certificate (as per Para 2(a) and Para 4(b)) on their BSF Recruitment Website profile before applying.
Application Fee & Mode of Payment
- Male Candidates (General/UR, OBC): Rs. 159/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty Nine) through the BSF Recruitment website.
- Exemptions: Fees are exempted for Female candidates, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
- Important: Fee once paid is non-refundable. Applications with other payment modes will be rejected.
Selection Process
- Scrutiny of Online Applications & Certificates: Applications and uploaded certificates will be scrutinized. Candidates securing a minimum of 12 marks (for all categories: UR/SC/ST/OBC) as per Para 4b(iii) will be issued online admit cards.
- Physical Verification of Documents: Candidates will undergo identity verification (including Biometric capture) and must produce all original documents/certificates (age, education, caste, sport achievement, age/height relaxation proofs). Government servants must furnish a No Objection Certificate (Annexure-II).
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Qualifying candidates from documentation will undergo PST as per Para 4(c). Those not meeting physical measurements will be eliminated. Female candidates must submit a self-declaration regarding pregnancy status; pregnant candidates will be declared temporarily unfit.
- Merit List: A merit list will be drawn based on marks obtained (as per table given at Para 4(b)(III)) after completion of Documentation and PST.
- Tie-breaking criteria: Higher marks, then international competition achievement over national, then specific national level competitions (National Games > Senior National Championship > National Open Championship), then younger age, then alphabetical order of name.
- Sports merit certificates must be signed by the awarding authority (e.g., Secretary of National Federation for International competitions, Secretary of National Federation/State Association for National competitions) in the prescribed format (Annexure-VII/VIII).
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will undergo a DME to assess their fitness as per MHA medical guidelines.
- Appeal against DME: Candidates declared unfit can submit an appeal for re-medical examination with a Medical Fitness Certificate (Annexure-'VI'), a fee of Rs. 25/- (Indian Postal Order), and the original rejection slip within 24 hours of receiving the rejection slip.
General Instructions
- Malpractices: Indulging in any malpractices (e.g., leaving venue uninformed, assault, incorrect/false statements, fabricated documents, forged admit card, impersonation, hacking recruitment data) will lead to cancellation of candidature and may result in police action.
- Documents for Recruitment: Candidates must bring a clear printout of their online application form for identification. Sufficient passport-size photographs (same as submitted online) are required.
- Service & Training: Selected candidates must serve a minimum of 10 years and undergo Basic Training and other prescribed courses.
- Ineligibility: Vacancies are not open for physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen. Candidates involved in criminal cases will not be considered.
- Communication: No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the recruitment process. Candidates must arrange their own accommodation. Ineligible candidates will not receive correspondence. All communication regarding recruitment tests (date, venue, admit cards) will be sent to the registered email ID.
- Transparency: Recruitment is transparent and merit-based. Do not pay any money except for the prescribed application/RME fee. Report any demands for money to the Recruitment Board or local police.
