Applications are invited from interested and eligible female candidates for 1316 Anganwadi Worker (AWW) and 4794 Anganwadi Helper (AWH) posts, totaling 6110 vacancies, in Punjab. Candidates must apply through online mode only via the link sswcd.punjab.gov.in in the prescribed format with all supporting documents. No other mode of application will be accepted.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Candidates must apply online only. The detailed advertisement, eligibility criteria, and qualification details are available on the website sswcd.punjab.gov.in.

Instructions for Applicants

  • Ensure eligibility: Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria specified in the advertisement.
  • Careful form submission: Candidates must fill the online application form carefully and verify all information before submission. The department will not be responsible for any incorrect or misleading information provided. The responsibility lies solely with the candidate.

  • No modifications: No changes or modifications will be allowed after the final submission of the application.
  • Application printout: After successful submission, candidates must keep a printout of their application for future reference.
  • Application ID: Each application will be assigned a unique Application ID, which will be printed on the application. All future correspondence will be based on this ID.
  • Honorarium-based posts: These posts are honorarium-based. If the number of applications is high, the Block-level Selection Committee may shortlist candidates for interviews.
  • No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance/Dearness Allowance will be provided for attending counseling.
  • Original documents: Original documents must be presented at the time of counseling.

  • Right to cancel: The competent authority reserves the right to cancel the selection process at any time.

  • Selection criteria: Selection will be based on a weighted average of educational qualifications (Graduation, PG, B.Ed, ETT, or equivalent) and interview marks.
  • Anganwadi Centre code: Before applying, candidates must check the Anganwadi Centre code via the provided link and ensure they meet the educational, residential, and age criteria for that specific centre.

Educational Qualifications

  • Anganwadi Worker (AWW):
    • Minimum Graduation or equivalent AND
    • Passed Punjabi at the 10th level or equivalent examination conducted by the Language Department, Government of Punjab.
  • Anganwadi Helper (AWH):
    • Minimum 10+2 or equivalent AND
    • Passed Punjabi at the 10th level or equivalent examination conducted by the Language Department, Government of Punjab.
  • Note: If a candidate possesses higher educational qualifications, it will be considered in the selection criteria. The educational qualification certificate must be issued, or the result declared, before the last date of application.

Age Limit (as of the last date of online application)

  • Anganwadi Worker: Minimum 21 years, Maximum 37 years.
  • Anganwadi Helper: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 37 years.
  • Scheduled Caste (SC)/Backward Class (BC): Up to 42 years.
  • Disabled Candidates: Up to 47 years.
  • Widows and Divorced Candidates: Up to 47 years.

Residence Qualification

  • Rural Areas: Candidate must be a resident of the concerned Gram Panchayat/Gram Sabha area. For cases of divided Gram Panchayats after 2018-01-01, resident of the entire area of the concerned divided Gram Panchayat.
  • Urban Areas (Nagar Nigam and A Class Nagar Council): Candidate must be a resident of the concerned ward or contiguous wards (as per ward division at the time of notice issuance).
  • Urban Areas (B & C Class Nagar Council and Nagar Panchayat): Candidate must be a resident of the concerned city.
  • Residence conditions apply to all appointments, except for promotions, transfers after marriage, or adjustments.

Residence Proof

Candidates must provide one of the following:

  • Domicile Certificate issued by the Government of Punjab; OR
  • Voter ID Card and entry in the latest voter list (issued by the Electoral Registration Officer); OR
  • Aadhaar Card (must be at least 6 months old);
  • For reservation, a Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Punjab.
  • For married women applying, any two documents from points i-iii of the husband AND a Marriage Registration Certificate issued by the government.
  • If the above residence documents are not available, other residence proof can be attached with the application form. However, the applicant must submit these official documents to the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office before the last date for receiving applications and provide the receipt.
  • Original residence proof must be submitted to the CDPO before or on the counseling date. Otherwise, the application/eligibility will be rejected.
