Public Notice Regarding UGC - NET December 2025

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the opening of the online registration portal for the submission of online application forms for the UGC - NET December 2025 examination.

UGC-NET is conducted by the NTA, on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC), to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for:

  1. Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor.
  2. Appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.
  3. Admission to Ph.D. only in Indian universities and colleges.

The UGC - NET December 2025 examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for 85 subjects.

Important Instructions

  1. Candidates can apply for UGC - NET December 2025 through the "Online" mode only via the website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/.
  2. The Online Application Form must be accessed through the NTA website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. Applications submitted in any other mode will not be accepted.
  3. Only one application form is to be submitted by a candidate.
  4. Candidates must strictly adhere to the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin available on the NTA website. Non-compliance with instructions will lead to summary disqualification.
  5. Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or their Parents/Guardians' only and are accessible. All information and communication will be sent by NTA via e-mail to the registered e-mail address or SMS to the registered Mobile Number only.
  6. For any difficulty in applying for UGC - NET December 2025, candidates may contact 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 or send an e-mail to ugcnet@nta.ac.in.
  7. Candidates must fill in their particulars carefully, as no changes will be allowed after the final submission of the Application Form. Candidates are advised to use Aadhaar verification while completing the Application Form, as this will facilitate the registration and examination process, particularly at the examination centres, and the processing of their JRF.
