Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks in various offices of the Department of Posts.

Emoluments and Allowances

The emoluments are in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA).

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limits (as on the last date of submission of applications)

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 40 years

Educational Qualification

  • Secondary School Examination (10th standard) pass certificate with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized Board.
  • The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to 10th Standard.

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computers.
  • Knowledge of cycling.
  • Adequate means of livelihood.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online through the official portal: https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.

Application Fee

  • A fee of Rs. 100 is required.
  • Payment is exempted for all female applicants, SC/ST applicants, PwBD applicants, and Transwomen applicants.

Selection Criteria

  • Selection will be based on a system-generated merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination (10th standard).
  • For applicants with grades/points, marks will be calculated by applying a multiplication factor of 9.5.
  • In case of a tie, the priority order will be: DOB (Older in age), ST trans-woman, ST female, SC trans-woman, SC female, and so on.

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates will be called for physical verification of documents. They must bring original documents and two sets of self-attested photocopies. Required documents include:

  • Marks sheet
  • Identity proof
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • PwBD certificate (if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate (if applicable)
  • Date of Birth Proof
  • Medical certificate
