Online applications are invited from Indian citizens for selection to the following posts in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India. The eligibility conditions are to be fulfilled as on 01.03.2026.

1. Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports (05 Posts, UR-5)

  • Pay Band: Pay Level 12 of Pay Matrix (initial basic pay Rs.78,800/- plus allowances).
  • Age Limit: 30 to 40 years.
  • Essential Qualifications:
    1. A degree in Law from a recognized University in India. OR Must be a member of the English Bar. OR An Attorney of High Court in the territory of India.
    2. Knowledge of computer operation.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years practice as an Advocate in any High Court/Supreme Court, OR 3 years in a judicial post, OR 3 years research experience in Law, OR 3 years as a Law Reporter/Editorial staff, OR 3 years as a Lecturer in Law, OR 7 years service (with 4 years in a Class-II Gazetted post) in the Supreme Court/High Court.
  • Scheme of Examination:
    • Written Test (Part-A: Precis writing and Editorial Skill Test - 100 marks; Part-B: Law and Constitution - 100 marks).
    • Interview (25 marks).

2. Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum (01 Post, UR-1)

  • Pay Band: Pay Level 11 of Pay Matrix (initial basic pay Rs.67,700/- plus allowances).
  • Age Limit: 30 to 40 years.
  • Essential Qualifications: Master's Degree in Museology with 1st Class. Knowledge of Indian antiquities, Museum techniques, publications, educational activities, and computer operation.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years research experience with documentary evidence of published work in a Museum of standing or a comparable institution.
  • Scheme of Examination:
    • Written Test (General English, General Knowledge, General Aptitude - 30 marks; Museology, Archaeology, Ancient History/History - 70 marks). Total 100 marks.
    • Computer Test (Qualifying in nature).
    • Interview (25 marks).

3. Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum (02 Posts, UR-2)

  • Pay Band: Pay Level 8 of Pay Matrix (initial basic pay Rs.47,600/- plus allowances).
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit is 35 years.
  • Essential Qualifications: Master's Degree in Museology with high II Class (minimum 55% marks). Knowledge of Computer Operation.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years research experience in Museology OR 2 years working experience as Assistant Curator or above in any Museum.
  • Scheme of Examination: Same as for Assistant Director.

4. Assistant Librarian (14 Posts, UR-10, SC-3, ST-1)

  • Pay Band: Pay Level 8 of Pay Matrix (initial basic pay Rs.47,600/- plus allowances).
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years.
  • Essential Qualifications:
    1. Degree in Library Science from a recognized university.
    2. Diploma in Computer Application (AICTE/DOEACC recognized) or equivalent.
    3. Knowledge of computer operation in Library work, including Library Automation Software and computerized search.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a library of a recognized University/Law Library.
  • Scheme of Examination:
    • Written Test (General English, General Knowledge, General Aptitude - 30 marks; Library Management - 70 marks). Total 100 marks.
    • Computer Test.
    • Interview (25 marks).

Application Fee

  • General/OBC candidates: Rs. 1500/-
  • SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependent of Freedom Fighters: Rs. 750/-
  • Payment is to be made online through the payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.

Relaxation in Age

Usual age relaxation is admissible for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Physically Challenged, Ex-servicemen, and dependents of Freedom Fighters as per Government of India Rules. No upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry.

General Instructions

  • Applications must be submitted online through the Supreme Court Website: www.sci.gov.in.
  • Candidates must apply separately for each post.
  • Candidates who have already applied in response to the advertisement dated 25th July, 2025 need not apply again.
  • Tests will be conducted at Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. The interview will be conducted in Delhi only.
  • Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility conditions before applying.
  • Candidates must upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and other requisite documents.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the Tests/Interview.
  • Admit Cards will be available for download from the official website and will not be sent by post.
