Medical Appeal for Assistant Loco Pilot (CEN-01/2024)

This notice is for candidates who were shortlisted for Document Verification for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and were subsequently found medically UNFIT in the Aye-1 (A1) category by the Railway Hospital's medical committee. Candidates who wish to appeal against this medical verdict can do so by following the procedure outlined below.

Appeal Procedure

If a candidate wishes to appeal the decision, they must submit their appeal to the Principal Chief Medical Director of the concerned railway. The appeal must be submitted within one month from the date of issue of this notice, with due justification.

Submission Deadline: The appeal must reach the Railway Recruitment Board, Ranchi by 23.02.2026.

Required Documents for Appeal

Candidates must submit the following three documents:

  1. Appeal with Justification: A duly signed appeal indicating the candidate's Roll No., Registration No., and date of Document Verification, as per the format in Annexure-'B'.
  2. Medical Certificate: A certificate from a registered Government/Private specialist in the field where the candidate was found unfit, following the format in Annexure-'A'. The certificate must acknowledge awareness of railway medical standards.
  3. Demand Draft: A Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only) in favour of "FA & CAO, South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata".

Important Notes on Medical Certificate

  • The appeal will only be considered if the candidate provides a medical certificate from a registered specialist.
  • The certificate must state that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the specific medical category and that the candidate was previously declared unfit by a railway medical board.
  • The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and identification marks, duly attested by the issuing authority, along with the authority's full name, designation, address, and Medical Council of India/State registration number.
