Applications are invited from Boys and Girls for admission to Class VIII in the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, for the January 2027 term. The written examination will be conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should either be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from a recognized school at the time of admission (01 January 2027).
- Age Limit: Candidates should be between 11.5 and 13 years of age as of 01 January 2027. They must have been born not earlier than 02 January 2014 and not later than 01 July 2015.
Scheme of Examination
The admission process consists of three stages:
- Written Examination: Held on 07 June 2026.
- Mathematics: 09:30 - 11:00 hrs
- General Knowledge: 12:00 - 13:00 hrs
- English: 14:30 - 16:30 hrs
- Viva-Voce: For candidates who qualify the written examination. This stage will test the candidate's intelligence, personality, and communication skills. The date and venue will be intimated to selected candidates by the State Government.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify the Viva-Voce will undergo a medical examination at selected Military Hospitals. Final selection is subject to being found medically fit.
Examination Centre
The examination centre for the Entrance (Qualifying) Examination is located in Vijayawada.
How to Obtain Application Form
The Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers can be obtained from The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) by the following methods:
- Online Payment: Pay Rs. 600/- (for General Candidates) or Rs. 555/- (for SC/ST Candidates) on the RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in.
- Demand Draft: Obtain the form from RIMC or APPSC by sending a written request with a Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- (General) or Rs. 555/- (SC/ST). The DD should be in favour of "THE COMMANDANT RIMC FUND", DRAWEE BRANCH, HDFC BANK, BALLUPUR CHOWK, DEHRADUN, (BANK CODE - 1399), UTTARAKHAND.
Documents to be Submitted
Applications must be submitted in duplicate with the following mandatory documents:
- Birth Certificate (from Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat)
- Domicile Certificate
- SC/ST Certificate (if applicable)
- Original certificate from the Principal of the current school stating Date of Birth and class of study, with an attested photograph.
- Photocopy of Aadhar Card (both sides)
- Two passport size photographs
