Application Fee
As per General Administration Department, Bihar, Patna Resolution No. 15568, dated 21.08.2025 (note: this date seems to be a future date, possibly a typo in the original document or refers to a future effective date for a rule), the application fee for each candidate is INR 100/-.
Additional bank charges, as determined by various banks, will also be applicable and automatically deducted during online payment.
Payment must be made online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, or UPI. Applicants must keep a copy of the receipt. (Note: Payment of fee shall be accepted through online mode only.)
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on a written competitive examination and work experience.
Merit List Preparation
- Written Competitive Examination (Computer Based Test): 75 marks.
- Work Experience: 25 marks.
- 5 marks per year of experience in government hospitals/institutions or non-government hospitals (under Central Government, Panchayati Raj, Urban bodies) within Bihar, on a contract basis for the same post.
- Maximum 25 marks. For a fraction of a year, proportional marks will be added (calculated by multiplying days worked by 5, then dividing by 365).
- Total: 100 marks.
Note:
(I) Marks obtained in the written competitive examination will be weighted by a factor of 0.75. For example, if a candidate scores 60% marks, 60X0.75 = 45 marks will be awarded.
(II) Written Competitive Examination Details:
* The Commission will conduct the written competitive examination via Computer Based Test (CBT).
* Syllabus:
* The question paper will have 100 multiple-choice questions.
* Questions will be in both Hindi and English.
* The exam duration will be two hours, for a total of 100 marks.
* Questions will be based on the Diploma in Dental Hygienist level curriculum prescribed by the demanding department, which will be published separately on the Commission's website.
* The exam may be conducted in multiple shifts, and results will be prepared using a normalization process.
* Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer, while 01 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
* Exam results will be declared after applying the normalization process.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
As per resolutions from the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, Bihar (Resolution No. 2374, dated 16.07.2007) and General Administration Department, Bihar (Resolution No. 962, dated 22.01.2021), the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination are:
- General Category: 40%
- Backward Class: 36.5%
- Extremely Backward Class: 34%
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Women, and Persons with Disabilities: 32%
Note: If candidates do not achieve the minimum qualifying marks according to their category, their claim will not be accepted.
Work Experience Benefits
- Work experience benefits will only be given to candidates who qualify the written competitive examination.
- Experience certificates must be issued by the Civil Surgeon of the concerned district, the Principal and Superintendent of Medical Colleges/Hospitals, and the Director of Super Specialty Hospitals.
- Claims for work experience not made in the application form will not receive the benefit of work experience marks or age relaxation.
- The period of work experience will be calculated up to 10.10.2025.
- The experience certificate must be in the format provided in Appendix-1. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted for work experience marks or age relaxation.
Document Verification
Qualified candidates will be invited for document verification as per the category-wise merit list prepared based on the provisions in clause 5(i) of the advertisement.
Important Instructions
Documents Required for Online Application (Upload)
Candidates must upload the following documents/mark sheets related to their qualifications/reservation/experience:
- (i) Matriculation Original Certificate
- (ii) Intermediate (10+2) Mark Sheet and Original/Provisional Certificate
- (iii) Mark Sheets of all years and Original/Provisional Certificate for Diploma in Dental Hygienist from a recognized institution
- (iv) Registration Certificate from Bihar State Dental Council
- (v) Caste Certificate/Non-Creamy Layer Certificate/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate
- (vi) Permanent Residence Certificate
- (vii) Certificate for Grandchildren/Granddaughters of Bihar State Freedom Fighters
- (viii) Disability Certificate
- (ix) Experience Certificate (in the prescribed format)
Ensure that all these certificates/mark sheets are uploaded in the designated columns. The Commission reserves the right to cancel candidature if any certificate/mark sheet is not uploaded.
Only those certificates/mark sheets mentioned by the candidate in their original online application will be considered valid. The certificate/mark sheet number and issue date must be entered in the online application, and all documents must be uploaded in the prescribed column. All such certificates/mark sheets must be issued by 10.11.2025.
General Application and Verification Guidelines
- Candidates claiming work experience under clause 5(iii) of the advertisement must obtain their experience certificate (in the format attached as Appendix-1) from the Civil Surgeon of the concerned district, the Principal of Medical Colleges/Hospitals, the Superintendent of Medical Colleges/Hospitals, or the Director of Super Specialty Hospitals. The competent authorities for the institutions mentioned in clause 5(i)(b) of the advertisement will issue these certificates.
- Candidates must download and securely keep a hard copy of the final filled online application and all related certificates. The candidate will be required to present the hard copy and self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents for verification at any time requested by the Commission.
- Only certificates/mark sheets mentioned/uploaded in the online form will be accepted by the Commission during document verification. Candidates will be solely responsible for being denied eligibility/reservation/experience preference if a document is not mentioned/uploaded, and no claim in this regard will be entertained.
- During document verification, only original certificates/mark sheets will be matched against those uploaded in the online application. No other certificate/mark sheet will be accepted by the Commission during document verification.
- During document verification, candidates must present all uploaded certificates/mark sheets, downloaded from the Commission's website. Candidates are advised to upload clear and legible documents, properly scanned. The Commission reserves the right to cancel candidature if blurred/unclear/black/unreadable documents/certificates are uploaded.
- All certificates and mark sheets mentioned in the application form must be presented in their original form during document verification. If any certificate is not presented or is found to be erroneous, no additional certificate will be accepted by the Commission. The Commission reserves the right to make decisions regarding the eligibility of candidates who fail to comply with these instructions.
- All information related to this advertisement will be published on the Commission's website: www.btsc.bihar.gov.in. Candidates should continuously monitor the Commission's website. There is no obligation for notification via newspapers, SMS, or email.
- Printed, typed, handwritten applications separate from the online application will not be accepted. Incomplete, unclear, unsigned, or late online applications will be rejected, and the fee will not be refunded.
- Candidates must fill all entries in the online application carefully. No changes/corrections will be accepted later. The Commission will not be responsible for any errors, and the candidate will be solely responsible for any adverse consequences. No application for correction will be considered.
- Document verification is mandatory on the date fixed by the Commission. The Commission's decision will be final for any claims by absentees for re-verification.
