Introduction

Online applications are invited for filling up the posts of Constables (Veterinary, Driver, Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter, Carpenter and Nursing Orderly) in Group-'C' Non-Gazetted (Combatised) & Non-Ministerial in Sashastra Seema Bal, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The posts are temporary but likely to continue. Selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India or outside the Territory of India.

Pay Scale and Allowances

  • Pay Scale: Level-3 (Rs. 21,700 - 69,100) in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.
  • Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other allowances as admissible in SSB.

Eligibility Conditions

1. Constable (Veterinary)

  • Age: Between 18 and 27 years.
  • Qualification: 10th class pass with Science as the main subject. One year of experience in the treatment of different species of animals in a recognized Veterinary Hospital.

2. Constable (Driver) only for male

  • Age: Between 18 and 27 years.
  • Qualification: 10th class pass and must possess a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.

3. Constables (Gardener, Water Carrier, Cobbler, Tailor, Washerman, Barber, Waiter)

  • Age: Between 18 and 23 years.
  • Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent with:
    • (i) Two years work experience in respective trades; OR
    • (ii) One year certificate course from an ITI/Vocational Institute with at least one year experience; OR
    • (iii) Two years Diploma from a recognized ITI in the trade or similar trade.
  • Must qualify trade test.

4. Constable (Carpenter)

  • Age: Between 18 and 25 years.
  • Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent with:
    • (a) Two years work experience in the trade; OR
    • (b) One year certificate course from an ITI/Vocational Institute with at least one year experience; OR
    • (c) Two years Diploma from a recognized ITI in the trade or similar trade.
  • Must qualify trade test.

5. Constable (Nursing Orderly)

  • Age: Between 18 and 27 years.
  • Qualification:
    • (i) 10th class pass from a recognized Board.
    • (ii) First Aid certificate course from St. John's Ambulance Organisation or Red Cross Society of India.
    • (iii) Working experience of a minimum of one year as a Nursing Orderly in a minimum fifty-bedded Hospital.

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service from the actual age.
  • Departmental Candidates (Central Govt.): Up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC), 45 years (SC/ST).

Application Fee

  • UR, EWS, and OBC: Rs. 100/- (Non-Refundable).
  • SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, and female candidates: Exempted from payment.
  • Mode of Payment: Net-banking/ credit card/ debit card/ UPI.

Selection Process

Stage I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • PET:
    • Male: 4.8 Kms race to be completed within 24 minutes.
    • Female: 2.4 Kms race to be completed within 18 minutes.
    • Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET.
  • PST: Candidates qualifying PET will undergo PST. Minimum height and chest requirements vary by post and category. Refer to the official notification for detailed charts.

Stage II: Written Examination

  • A Computer Based Test (CBT) will be conducted for candidates who qualify PST.
  • Duration: 2 hours.
  • Total Marks: 100 marks (100 multiple choice objective type questions).
  • Syllabus: General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning & General English/ Hindi.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • 50% for UR, EWS, OBC, and Ex-Servicemen.
    • 45% for SC & ST.

Stage III: Documentation and Skill Test

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for documentation based on marks in the written exam.
  • The skill test for all posts will be of 50 marks and qualifying in nature (60% marks required).

Stage IV: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME)

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for DME based on merit in the written exam, up to 3 times the number of vacancies.
