Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) Advertisement No. 05/2026

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur, has released a notification for the joint direct recruitment of Lab Assistants and Junior Lab Assistants for various government departments. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for a total of 804 posts.

Application Fee (One Time Registration - OTR)

Candidates must pay a one-time registration fee through the SSO portal.

  • General Category & Creamy Layer OBC/MBC: ₹600
  • Rajasthan's Non-Creamy Layer OBC/MBC, EWS, SC/ST: ₹400
  • All Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹400

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2027)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Note: A relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit will be provided to all candidates as the recruitment was not held after 2022. Age relaxations for reserved categories are applicable as per government rules.

Educational Qualifications

  • Secondary Education Dept: Senior Secondary with at least three subjects from: Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics.
  • Agriculture Dept: Higher Secondary with Science or Senior Higher Secondary with Science.
  • Sanskrit Education Dept: Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary/Varishtha Upadhyay with Science as an optional subject.
  • State Forensic Science Lab (Home Dept): Second Division in Senior Secondary with Science. Additionally, a Certificate/Diploma in Computer Science/Application or 'O' Level or higher certificate from NIELIT (formerly DOEACC) is required.
  • Public Health Engineering Dept: Higher Secondary or equivalent with Chemistry as a subject.
  • College Education Dept: Senior Secondary with Geography as a subject.
  • Common Requirement: Knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

Pay Scale

  • Lab Assistant & Junior Lab Assistant (PHE Dept): Pay Matrix Level 8
  • Junior Lab Assistant (State Forensic Science Lab): Pay Matrix Level 5

Examination Scheme and Syllabus

For Lab Assistant/Junior Lab Assistant (Science)

  • Total Marks: 400
  • Paper-I (200 Marks, 2 Hours, 100 Questions):
    • Geographical, Historical, Cultural and General Knowledge of Rajasthan.
    • Current Affairs of Rajasthan.
    • General Knowledge of World and India.
    • Educational Psychology.
  • Paper-II (200 Marks, 2 Hours, 100 Questions):
    • Science (Secondary Standard).
    • Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Senior Secondary Standard).

For Lab Assistant (Geography)

  • Total Marks: 300
  • Duration: 3 Hours
  • Part A (100 Marks): General Knowledge of Rajasthan (History, Art, Culture, Literature, Traditions, Heritage, and Geography).
  • Part B (200 Marks): Geography.

Note for both exams:

  • All questions will be multiple choice (Objective Type).
  • There will be negative marking. 1/3 of the marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The minimum qualifying marks are 40%. A 5% relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

  2. Candidates need to complete the One Time Registration (OTR) process first.
  3. After OTR, candidates can log in and apply through the Recruitment Portal available under Citizen Apps (G2C).
