Intimation About Medical Unfitness and Provision for Appeal Against CEN NO: 03/2024

Introduction

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Guwahati has issued a notification regarding candidates who have undergone medical examination against CEN NO: 03/2024 and were found unfit in the prescribed medical category. A list of these candidates has been provided in the notification.

Provision for Appeal

Candidates who wish to appeal the decision of the medical committee may submit an appeal for medical re-examination. The appeal must be in the format provided (Annexure B) and addressed to:

The appeal must be routed through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Guwahati. It should be submitted with all relevant documents by speed post or delivered by hand on or before 17:00 hours of 20.02.2026.

Procedure of Appeal

An appeal will be entertained only if the following conditions are met:

  1. The appeal, with justification, must be duly signed by the candidate, indicating their Roll No., Registration No., and Date of Document Verification. It should be received in the office of the undersigned within 30.01.2026.
  2. The candidate must produce a certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from a Government/Private Doctor of the specialty in which the candidate was found unfit.
  3. The certificate must contain a note confirming that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards required by the Railways for the specific medical category and is aware that the candidate has already been declared unfit by a Medical Board of three Senior Railway Doctors.
  4. The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and mark of identification, duly attested by the issuing Government/Private authority. The authority's full name, designation, address, and MCI/State Registration Number must be clearly mentioned.
  5. In accordance with Railway Board's letter no. 2014/H/5/8(policy) dated 31.12.2015, candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 1000/- through a Demand Draft (DD) payable in favour of PFA, N.F. Railway, Maligaon.

Fee Refund Policy

If the appeal is considered and the decision is changed from 'Unfit' to 'Fit', the DD will be refunded to the candidate. In all other cases, the DD will be credited to the Railway.
