Indian Navy Agniveer (MR) Recruitment for 01/2027 and 02/2027 Batch

The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male and female candidates for enrollment as Agniveer (MR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th) examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a Board of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

    • Note: Candidates appearing for the 10th board examination in the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria. Such candidates will be selected only upon producing the original mark sheet during subsequent stages of recruitment.
  • Age Limit:

    • Agniveer 01/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 December 2004 and 31 May 2009 (both dates inclusive).
    • Agniveer 02/2027 Batch: Candidates should be born between 01 May 2005 and 31 October 2009 (both dates inclusive).
    • Candidates born between 01 December 2004 and 31 October 2009 are eligible to apply for INET 2026.
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year service period.

Terms and Conditions

  • Service Duration: The engagement period for Agniveers is four years.
  • Leave: 30 days of annual leave. Sick leave will be based on medical advice.
  • Pay and Allowances: A composite package of ₹30,000 per month with a fixed annual increment. Additionally, risk & hardship, dress, and travel allowances will be paid.
  • Seva Nidhi Package: Upon completion of four years, Agniveers will be paid a one-time 'Seva Nidhi' package, which includes their contribution plus matching contribution from the Government and accrued interest. The package will consist of approximately ₹5.02 Lakh from the individual's contribution and a similar amount from the government.
  • Insurance Cover: A non-contributory Life Insurance Cover of ₹48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period.
  • Enrollment as Regular Cadre: Based on organizational requirements and policies, up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrollment in the regular cadre of the Indian Navy.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

  1. Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) 2026
  2. Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination.

Stage I: INET 2026

  • Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test.
  • Question Paper: The paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English), objective type (multiple-choice).
  • Structure: It will consist of 50 questions, each carrying 1 mark. The paper will have two sections: 'Science & Mathematics' and 'General Knowledge'.
  • Syllabus: The standard of the question paper will be of the 10th level. The syllabus is available on the official website.
  • Duration: 30 minutes.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Stage II

  • Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II based on their performance in the INET 2026 exam. Shortlisting will be done state-wise.

  • Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the PFT will appear for the Stage II written exam. The pattern will be similar to the Stage I exam.
  • Recruitment Medicals: Candidates who qualify the Stage II written exam will undergo a recruitment medical examination.

Examination Fee

  • An examination fee of ₹550/- (Rupees Five Hundred Fifty only) plus 18% GST has to be paid by the candidate during the online application process.
  • The fee can be paid using Net Banking or by using Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI.

How to Apply

  • Candidates can apply online only on the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
  • The application window is from 14 March 2026 to 06 April 2026 (17:00 HRS).
