Important Instructions for Candidates

  1. Documents Required: Candidates are requested to bring all original documents (along with self-attested photocopies) regarding educational qualification, experience, age proof, community/PH certificate, equivalence certificate, etc., as per exhaustive details given on the Commissions website (http://www.upsc.gov.in) under Recruitment/Interview/List of documents (Annexure I).
  2. Attestation Form and TA Bill Form: Candidates must submit the Attestation Form along with photographs and fill the TA Bill Form (if an outstation candidate). Read carefully and follow procedures, terms & conditions governing the Interview as indicated in the Commissions website under Recruitment/Interview/Procedure, Terms & Conditions (Annexure II) and download the requisite forms.
  3. Original Documents Verification (Note-I): Candidates are advised to ensure they produce all original documents (along with one copy) as claimed in their Online Application Form (ORA form) at the time of applying for the subject post, and in reference to the final modalities uploaded on the Commission's website.
  4. No Change in Interview Date (Note-II): No request for change of interview date will be entertained.

List of Original Documents to be Submitted (As per Annexure-I)

  • Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate indicating date of birth.
  • Essential Qualification and Experience as mentioned in Advt. No. 12/2024, Vacancy No. 24111201609 along with Degree/Certificates.
  • Certificate(s) in the "prescribed proforma" from the Head(s) of Organization(s)/Department(s) for the entire experience claimed.
  • Caste certificate in the "prescribed proforma" for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.
  • Declaration in the "prescribed proforma" by OBC candidates stating non-creamy layer status.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) certificate in "prescribed proforma" issued by the competent authority.
  • Documents for claiming change in name after matriculation (e.g., marriage certificate, divorce deed, affidavit, deed poll, gazette notification).
  • Certificate in respect of Age relaxation in "prescribed proforma" for Ex-Servicemen and Central/UT Government Employees/Servants.
  • Declaration of having informed the Head of Office/Department if already in Regular Government service.
  • Certificate from employer stating Government servant status as on the closing date (if claimed).
  • Any other condition mentioned.

Photograph Requirements

Candidates must bring three copies of passport size photographs (4cm X 5cm approx.). The photographs should be in colour, clear, with continuous tone quality, showing full face from top of hair to bottom of chin, front view, eyes open, with a plain white or off-white background. No distracting shadows. Expression should be natural. Photographs must have been taken within the preceding ten (10) days and should clearly print the candidate's name and date of photograph on them. On the backside of each photograph, mention (i) Roll Number, (ii) Date of interview, and (iii) the name of the Post in the upper half.

Procedures, Terms and Conditions for Interview (As per Annexure-II)

  • Consequences of False Information: Any false information or claim will lead to rejection of candidature and potential debarment from UPSC examinations or Central Government employment.
  • Provisional Candidature: Candidature is provisional, subject to being found eligible in all respects based on document production. The closing date for application is crucial for all claims.
  • No Guarantee of Selection: Being called for an interview does not guarantee selection or support for a higher starting salary.
  • Books/Publications: Candidates may bring books, publications, manuscripts, thesis, or artistic works relevant to the advertised post for scrutiny by the Interview Board.

Banned Items (Note II & Point 6 of Annexure-II)

Suitcase, luggage, mobile phones, cameras, Bluetooth devices, recording devices, iPads, Pods, laptops, palmtops, or any other electronic or communication devices are strictly prohibited inside the Commission's premises. Infringement will lead to cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action. Arrangements for safekeeping cannot be assured.

Re-imbursement of Rail Fare (Outstation Candidates)

For outstation candidates, Second/Sleeper class train fare (Mail Express) will be reimbursed as per para 132 of Supplementary Rules. Candidates must submit hard copies/print out of tickets (to and fro journey) along with duly filled TA Claim forms (available on UPSC website). The contribution will be paid in cash on the date of interview. No reimbursement will be made if a candidate is disallowed for interview or interviewed conditionally.

Assistance for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD)

PwBD candidates requiring assistance during the Interview/Personality Test must intimate the details immediately at email id: sospc2.upsc@nic.in at least 3 working days prior to the scheduled date of interview. PwBD candidates using Hearing Aids must also inform at least 3 working days in advance to enable the Commission to decide on allowing the Hearing Aid.

General Information

Candidates must bring this letter and report to the Reception Officer, quoting the letter number, date, and post applied for in all future correspondence.
