Notice Regarding Medical Appeal for Assistant Loco Pilot (CEN No-01/2024)

This notice from the Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur, pertains to candidates who appeared for Document Verification for Assistant Loco Pilot under CEN No-01/2024 and subsequently underwent Medical Examination at Railway Hospitals. Following the medical reports, several candidates have been found unfit or not found fit in the prescribed medical categories, specifically in Aye-one vision or as per IRMM 2000 para S12 (1) standards. A detailed list of such candidates was provided in the original notice.

Appeal Procedure

As per the instructions contained in Railway Board's letter No.2014/H/5/8/(Policy), Dated:07.07.2017, candidates declared medically unfit have the option to submit an appeal.

Eligibility for Appeal

An appeal will only be entertained if the candidate produces a medical certificate from a Government/Private doctor of the Speciality/Specialities in which the candidate has been found Unfit. This certificate must include a note stating that the specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the particular medical category and that they are aware of the candidate's prior declaration of unfitness by an appropriate medical board.

Submission Details

Candidates wishing to appeal must send their appeal to the Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur. The appeal should be addressed to the Principal Chief Medical Director, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, and should reach the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Railway Station Road, Gorakhpur-273012 (Uttar Pradesh). The appeal must be submitted within 30 days from the date of issue of this information, and explicitly by 02/12/2025.

Required Documents

To submit an appeal, candidates must include the following three documents:

  1. Appeal with Justifications: Duly signed by the candidate, indicating their Roll No., Registration No., and date of Document Verification. (Proforma in Annexure- ‘B’)
  2. Medical Certificate: Issued by a Government/Private Specialist, conforming to the format specified in Annexure-A.
  3. Demand Draft: For Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) in favour of FA & CAO, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur.

Medical Certificate Guidelines

The medical certificate (Annexure-A) must bear the candidate's photograph and marks of identification, duly attested by the issuing Government/Private authority. The authority must clearly state their full name, designation, address, and Medical Council of India/State registration number.
