ECGC Limited, a Public Sector enterprise wholly owned by the Government of India, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer in the cadre of Executive Officer (Generalist and Specialist).

The number of vacancies is tentative and subject to change at the sole discretion of the Company. Officers recruited are liable to be posted to any department/office of ECGC PAN India.

Eligibility Criteria

I. Nationality / Citizenship: A candidate must be a Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan Refugee (came before 1st January 1962), or a person of Indian origin (migrated from specific East African/Asian countries) with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

II. Age (as on 2025-11-01):

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 30 years
  • Birth Date Range: Not earlier than 1995-11-02 and not later than 2004-11-01 (both dates inclusive).

Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers (including ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years of continuous military service: 5 years
    • Note: Specific relaxations for PwBD (OBC: 13 years, SC/ST: 15 years) apply where vacancies are reserved for those categories. OBC candidates under the 'creamy layer' are not entitled to reservation. No reservation for Ex-servicemen in Officers' Cadre.

Educational Qualification (as on 2025-11-01)

A. For Probationary Officers (Generalists):

  • Bachelor's Degree/Graduate in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification. Candidates must possess a valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate showing graduation on the day of registration and indicate the percentage of marks obtained.

B. For Probationary Officers (Specialists - Rajbhasha/Hindi) - 2 Posts:

  • Master's degree in Hindi /Hindi Translation, with English as core/Elective/Major subject at the Bachelor's Degree level with minimum 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University; OR
  • Master's degree in English with Hindi as core/elective/major subject at the Bachelor's Degree level with minimum 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University; OR
  • Master's degree in any discipline with English and Hindi as core/elective/major subjects at the Bachelor's Degree level with minimum 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University; OR
  • Master's degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi translation with minimum 55% for SC/ST and 60% for others from a recognized University.

All educational qualifications must be from a University/Institution/Board recognized by the Government of India, and the final result should have been declared on or before 2025-11-01.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

Reservation is as per The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act).

Eligible Categories:

  • Locomotor Disability (OC/LD): OA (One arm affected), OL (One leg affected), OAL (One arm and one leg affected), BA (Both Arms), including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Muscular Dystrophy, Acid Attack Victims, Spinal Deformity/Injury.
  • Visual Impairment (VI): Blindness and Low Vision.
  • Hearing Impaired (HI): Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • 4th Category: Intellectual disability (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness), and Multiple Disabilities.

Scribe and Compensatory Time:

  • Visually impaired candidates and those with functional limitations in writing can use their own scribe at their cost. The scribe's qualification should be one step below the candidate's qualification.
  • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided for eligible candidates and those using a scribe.

Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

  • Persons not covered under SC/ST/OBC reservations, with gross annual family income below ₹8.00 lakh. Income includes all sources. Family owning specific assets (e.g., 5 acres agricultural land, 1000 sq. ft. residential flat) are excluded.
  • Valid ‘Income and Asset Certificate’ for Financial Year 2025-26 required.

Online Pre-Examination Training

  • Online Pre-examination Training will be arranged for eligible SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwBD candidates who opt for it in the online application. Attending the training does not guarantee selection.

Recruitment Process - Online Examinations

The recruitment process consists of an Online Examination (Objective Test and Descriptive Paper) followed by an Interview.

There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the Objective Tests (1/4th or 0.25 of marks deducted). No penalty for unanswered questions.

Examination Centres

Online examination will be conducted in various cities including Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi-NCR, Ernakulum/Kochi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mohali, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/MMR region, Mangalore, Mysore, Nagpur, Panchkula, Patna, Prayagraj, Pune, Rajkot, Ranchi, Surat, Udaipur, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam, Vizag.

Interview and Selection Process

  • Candidates shortlisted from the Online Examination will be called for an Interview in Delhi or Mumbai.
  • Interview Marks: 60. Minimum qualifying marks: 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates).
  • Weightage: Online Examination: 80%, Interview: 20%. Final merit list based on combined score.
  • Final Selection: Subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria, identity verification, and medical fitness.
  • Merit List Validity: One year (365 days) from the date of final result publication. Vacancies arising up to 2026-03-31 may be filled from this list.

Documents Required (at Examination and Interview)

Candidates must bring:

  • Valid Call Letter (with affixed photo)
  • Original Photo Identity Proof (PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter's Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, Gazetted Officer ID, University ID, Aadhaar, Employee ID) and a photocopy.
  • One additional passport-sized photograph (same as uploaded in application).
  • Valid system-generated printout of the online application form.
  • Proof of Date of Birth.
  • Mark-sheets and certificates for Std X, Std XII, Graduation/Qualifying Degree (result declared on or before 2025-11-01).
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) in prescribed format (dated on or before application last date, valid for FY 2025-26).
  • Income and Asset Certificate (EWS) in prescribed format (dated on or before application last date, valid for FY 2025-26).
  • Latest Valid Disability certificate/UDID card (PwBD).
  • Ex-serviceman documents (Service/Discharge Book, pension payment order, rank proof).
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if serving in Govt./Quasi-Govt./PSU.
  • Experience certificate (if any).
  • Certificate of eligibility (for non-Indian citizens).
  • Certificate for persons with specified disability (less than 40% disability, difficulty in writing) as per Annexure-VIII.

Failure to produce requisite original documents will lead to disqualification. Documents will be verified with the Issuing Authority.

Service Bond and Posting

  • Selected candidates must execute a bond to serve ECGC for a minimum period of three years. In case of early departure, a sum equivalent to three months' salary (as liquidated damages) must be paid, in addition to a three-month notice period.
  • Posting will be PAN-INDIA as per the discretion of the Company.

Application Procedure

  • Mode: Online only via www.ecgc.in under "Career with ECGC" then "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE."
  • Registration: New users must click "CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION." A provisional registration number and password will be generated and sent via email/SMS.
  • Pre-requisites: Candidates must scan and upload:
    • Photograph (4.5cm x 3.5cm)
    • Signature (not in CAPITAL LETTERS)
    • Left Thumb Impression (guidelines for alternate fingers/toe if primary not available)
    • Handwritten Declaration: "I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required." (must be in English, in candidate's handwriting, not in CAPITAL LETTERS).
  • Live Photo Capture: Candidates will also be required to capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone.
  • Application Fees (Online Payment from 2025-11-11 to 2025-12-02):
    • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: ₹175/-
    • All others: ₹950/-
  • Edit Window: A 2-day edit window will be provided after the closing date of online applications to correct/modify specific fields (Exam Centre, Father's Name, Mother's Name, 10th/12th Percentage). A correction fee of ₹200/- (inclusive of GST) will be applicable.
  • Final Submission: Verify all details carefully using the "SAVE AND NEXT" facility before final submission, as no changes are permitted afterward for most fields.

General Instructions and Misconduct

  • Candidates are advised to read the advertisement thoroughly and ensure eligibility before applying. Supplying false information or engaging in unfair means will lead to disqualification, debarment from future examinations, and potentially legal action.
  • ECGC's decisions on eligibility, scrutiny, and the recruitment process are final. No correspondence will be entertained.
