Tentative Vacancies, Required Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria (as on 2025-12-31)

1. Mining Mate-C

  • Scale of Pay (IDA) Grade: Rs.29,190-3%-45,480/-
  • No. of Posts (Total-95): SC-13, ST-29, OBC(NCL)-05, EWS-13, UR-35
  • Maximum Age Limit: 40 years. Relaxable for experienced Mining Mate up to a maximum age limit of 53 years, based on experience over and above 3 years.
  • Minimum Educational Qualification & Work Experience:
    • For Underground Mines (79 vacancies):
      • Qualification: A valid and 'Unrestricted' Certificate of competency to work as 'Mining Mate / Foreman' applicable for metalliferous mines, issued by DGMS.
      • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years working experience in 'metalliferous mines'.
    • For Opencast Mines (16 vacancies):
      • Qualification: A valid 'Restricted or Unrestricted' Certificate of competency to work as 'Mining Mate / Foreman' applicable for metalliferous mines, issued by DGMS.
      • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years working experience in 'metalliferous mines'.

2. Winding Engine Driver-B

  • Scale of Pay (IDA) Grade: Rs.28,790-3%-44,850/-
  • No. of Posts (Total-09): ST-03, OBC(NCL)-01, EWS-02, UR-03
  • Maximum Age Limit: 32 years
  • Minimum Educational Qualification & Work Experience: Matric with 1st Class Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS. More than 3 years working experience as Winding Engine Driver in Metal Mines after obtaining 1st Class Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency, out of which at least one year experience on a 75 HP Winder or more.

3. Boiler-cum-Compressor Attendant-A

  • Scale of Pay (IDA) Grade: Rs.28,390-3%-44,230/-
  • No. of Posts (Total-03): ST-01, EWS-01, UR-01
  • Maximum Age Limit: 30 years
  • Minimum Educational Qualification & Work Experience: Matric with 1st Class Boiler Attendant Certificate granted by Government Board of any State or Union Territory. 1 year experience as in-charge with 1st Class Boiler Attendant Certificate of a single boiler with steam pipes of any type or capacity or two or more boilers (total minimum heating surface 300 sq.mtr). Candidate should be conversant with operation of oil-fired boilers.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBDs)

Reservations will be provided as per extant Govt. of India guidelines for identified categories (B: Blind, LV; D: Deaf, HH; O: OA, OL, BA, BL, OAL, BLOA, BLA, CP, LC, Dw, AAV, MDy, SD, SI; d: SLD, MI; MD: Multiple Disabilities). PwBD candidates must belong to their respective categories and possess not less than 40% disability. A valid Disability Certificate is required.

Reservation for Persons Belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

Reservations are as per extant Govt. guidelines. Candidates must submit a copy of a valid Income & Asset certificate issued by the competent authority as per DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 2019-01-31. The certificate must be valid for the year 2025-2026.

Reservation for Persons Belonging to Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer [OBC(NCL)]

Reservations are as per extant Govt. of India guidelines. Applicants must indicate their 'Non Creamy Layer' status and submit a requisite certificate from a Competent Authority, issued on or after 2025-04-01. The crucial date for determining OBC non-creamy layer status is the closing date of application submission. A Declaration/Undertaking will be required at the Skill Test/Interview.

Relaxation in Maximum Age Limit

  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
  • Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer): 3 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) - UR/EWS: 10 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) - SC/ST: (10+5) years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) - OBC (NCL): (10+3) years
  • Domicile of J&K during 1980-01-01 to 1989-12-31: UR/EWS - 5 years, OBC(NCL) - (5+3) years, SC/ST - (5+5) years

Pay and Allowances

In addition to Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perks & Allowances, selected candidates will be entitled to subsidized accommodation, medical facility, children's education facility, etc., as per company policies/rules and availability.

Relaxations & Concessions for Internal (Departmental) Candidates of UCIL

Internal (departmental) candidates, employees of UCIL working in a regular pay scale, are exempted from application fees and have no age limit. They must apply through the proper channel and forward a hard copy of their application.

Reservation for Land Displaced Persons of UCIL

Up to 30% of total vacancies shall be filled from amongst Land Displaced Persons (Awardees) under UCIL's 'Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy-2006', subject to fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria and suitability. Relevant documents are required.

Selection Process

Final selection may involve a 'Written test/ Trade Test/ Psychometric Test/ Group Exercise/ Personal Interview' or combinations thereof. UCIL's decision in this regard is final. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for further stages. Verification of original certificates will be done at the next stage of selection. UCIL reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify the recruitment/selection process at any stage without assigning reason.

General Terms and Conditions

Applicants must be Indian Nationals, aged above 18 years. The crucial date for reckoning the Maximum Age Limit and Post Qualification Experience is 2025-12-31. All qualifications must be full-time and recognized (ODL/Online modes permitted by UGC/Statutory bodies are considered equivalent). Appointment is subject to satisfactory verification of Character & Antecedents and medical fitness. Candidates must serve in any UCIL Unit in India. False information or suppression of material facts will lead to rejection/termination of candidature. Separate applications are required for multiple posts. Caste/category once filled in the application form cannot be changed. Relevant work experience is defined as full-time, regular salary-based, post-qualification experience in the stipulated area.
