This document provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding the recruitment for CEN No. 09/2025 for Various Posts of Level-1 of the 7th CPC Matrix.

Important Dates

  • Opening Date of Application: 31.01.2026
  • Closing Date for Online Submission: 02.03.2026 (23:59 hrs)
  • Closing Date for Online Fee Payment: 04.03.2026 (23:59 hrs)
  • Application Modification Window: 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess the prescribed educational, technical, or professional qualifications on or before the closing date of application (02.03.2026). Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply.
  • Age Reckoning Date: The crucial date for reckoning age is 01.01.2026.
  • LASIK Surgery: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery are conditionally eligible for posts requiring Medical Standards A2 and A3. Refer to Note of Para 3.0 of the detailed CEN.

Account Creation and Application Process

  • Account Requirements: Candidates must have their own active mobile number and a valid personal email ID.
  • Existing Users: Candidates who created an account for any RRB notification in 2024 or 2025 do not need to create a new account. They can log in with their existing credentials.
  • Procedure: To apply, select 'Create an Account' under the 'Apply Button', fill in the required details, and verify with the OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email. After creating the account, sign in and complete the five sections: Personal Details, Other Details, Educational Qualification, Upload Profile Documents, and Preference and Preview & Submit.
  • Editing Details: Details filled in the 'Create an Account' form (including email ID, mobile number) and the chosen RRB cannot be modified. Other details can be edited until final submission. For genuine reasons regarding 'Create an Account' details, candidates may email rrb.help@csc.gov.in.
  • Device for Application: It is advised to use a Desktop/Laptop as some features may not work properly on a mobile platform.

Application Rules

  • Pay Level: The recruitment is for one pay level only (Level-1).
  • Multiple Posts: Candidates can submit a common application for different posts in the same Railway if they meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Single RRB Application: Candidates are allowed to apply to only one RRB. Applying to more than one RRB will lead to the rejection of all applications and debarment from future exams.
  • Single Application per RRB: Multiple applications to the same RRB will also result in rejection and debarment.

Fees and Modifications

  • Modification Fee: A non-refundable fee of Rs. 250/- is applicable for each instance of modifying the application during the modification window.
  • Fee Payment: Fees can be paid online only via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI services.
  • Fee Refund: The refundable portion of the examination fee will be returned only to candidates who attend the Computer Based Test (CBT), after deducting bank charges. The modification fee is non-refundable.

Documentation and Verification

  • Aadhaar Verification: Aadhaar validation is required to ensure the genuineness of the candidate. If a candidate does not have Aadhaar, they can use one of the following documents: Driving License, Passport, PAN, Voter ID, Employee ID (Govt.), or ID Card of School/College/University (if still studying).
  • Uploaded Documents:
    • Photograph: JPEG format, 40 KB to 70 KB (min 100 DPI).
    • Signature: JPEG format, 30 KB to 70 KB (min 100 DPI).
    • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST): PDF format, less than 500KB. This is required to avail the Free Travel Pass.

Reservations and Concessions

  • Crucial Date for Category Status: Candidates seeking reservation under SC/ST/OBC/EWS status must possess the valid certificate as on the closing date of application (02.03.2026).
  • Free Travel Authority (Railway Pass): This facility is available only for SC/ST candidates. They must select 'Yes' for this option in the application form and upload their Caste Certificate.
  • Economically Backward Class (EBC): EBC candidates (annual family income less than Rs. 50,000/- or holders of BPL Card/Izzat MST) are eligible for fee concession only. There are no reserved posts for EBC candidates.
  • PwBD Candidates: An applicant is considered a Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) if the disability is 40% or more. They are eligible for scribe facilities as per the rules.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Candidates can apply as an Ex-Serviceman if they will be released within one year from the application closing date (i.e., on or before 02.03.2027).

Recruitment Stages and Exam Pattern

  • Stages: The recruitment process includes a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME).
  • Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for every wrong answer in the CBT.
  • Language of Examination: Candidates can choose one language from a list of 15 available languages.
