The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (MR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches.
Eligibility Conditions
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th grade) Examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from Boards of School Education recognised by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. Candidates appearing in the class 10th Board Exam of the academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply.
Age Criteria:
- Agniveer 01/2027 Batch: Born between 01 Dec 2004 and 31 May 2009 (both dates inclusive).
- Agniveer 02/2027 Batch: Born between 01 May 2005 and 31 Oct 2009 (both dates inclusive).
Marital Status:
Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must remain unmarried during their entire four-year tenure.
Terms & Conditions
- Duration of Service: 4 years under the Navy Act 1957.
- Leave: 30 days of annual leave.
- Pay & Allowances: A package of ₹30,000 per month with a fixed yearly increment. Risk, hardship, dress, and travel allowances will be paid as applicable.
- Seva Nidhi Package: On completion of the 4-year period, Agniveers will be paid a one-time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package, which will comprise their contribution plus accrued interest thereon and a matching contribution from the Government. The total corpus fund will be approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (tax-exempt).
- Life Insurance Cover: Non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs for the duration of their engagement period.
- Enrolment as Regular Cadre: On completion of four years, up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in the Indian Navy as regular cadre based on merit and organizational requirements.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two stages:
Stage I: INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test) 2026
- A computer-based online examination.
- The paper will have 50 objective-type questions from two sections: 'Science & Mathematics' and 'General Awareness'.
- Duration: 30 minutes.
- The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English).
- Penalty for Wrong Answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Stage II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical
- Candidates will be shortlisted for Stage II based on their performance in the Stage I INET exam. Shortlisting will be done state-wise.

- Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the PFT will undergo a written examination with a similar pattern to Stage I.
- Recruitment Medical: Candidates who qualify the PFT and Stage II written exam will undergo a medical examination.
Examination Fee
An examination fee of ₹550/- (Rupees Five Hundred Fifty only) plus 18% GST is to be paid by the candidate during the online application process through online mode.
