Application Procedure
Candidates must apply online through the CTET official website: https://ctet.nic.in.
Steps for Online Application:
- Log on to the official CTET website.
- Go to the link "Apply Online" and open it.
- Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the Registration Number/Application Number.
- Upload the latest scanned photograph and signature as per specifications.
- Photograph: JPG/JPEG format, 10-100 KB, dimensions 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).
- Signature: JPG/JPEG format, 3-30 KB, dimensions 3.5 cm (length) x 1.5 cm (height).
- Pay the examination fee using a debit/credit card or net banking.
- Print the Confirmation Page for record and future reference.
Important Notes on Application:
- Read the Information Bulletin carefully for eligibility criteria.
- Ensure complete mailing address with Postal PIN Code is provided.
- Keep the Confirmation Page securely.
- Submitting more than one online application will lead to cancellation of candidature and possible debarment from future examinations.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must satisfy the minimum qualifications notified by NCTE. Visit https://ncte.gov.in for details.
- Relaxation up to 5% in qualifying marks for minimum educational qualification is allowed for SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled categories.
- Appearing in CTET does not guarantee eligibility for appointment; eligibility will be finally verified by the recruiting agency.
Examination Structure and Content
- All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four alternatives; no negative marking.
- There are two papers:
- Paper I: For teachers of Classes I to V.
- Paper II: For teachers of Classes VI to VIII.
- Candidates intending to teach both levels must appear for both papers.
- Each paper consists of 150 MCQs for 150 marks, with a duration of two-and-a-half hours.
Paper I (Primary Stage, Classes I-V):
- Child Development and Pedagogy: 30 Questions
- Mathematics: 30 Questions
- Environmental Studies: 30 Questions
- Language I (compulsory): 30 Questions
- Language II (compulsory): 30 Questions
Paper II (Elementary Stage, Classes VI-VIII):
- Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 Questions
- Mathematics and Science (for Maths & Science teacher) OR Social Studies/Social Science (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher): 60 Questions
- Language I (compulsory): 30 Questions
- Language II (compulsory): 30 Questions
- Detailed syllabus for classes I-VIII refers to NCERT syllabus and text books.
- Main question paper will be bilingual (Hindi/English).
CTET Certificate Validity
The CTET qualifying certificate will be valid for a lifetime for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts to acquire a CTET Certificate or improve score.
Examination Centres
- A list of examination cities is provided in Appendix-III (pages 27-30).
- Candidates must give FOUR DIFFERENT OPTIONS in order of preference.
- The Board reserves the right to allot a centre other than the candidate's choice.
- No change in the allotted centre will be permitted under any circumstances.
E-Admit Card
- Admit cards will be available on the official CTET website.
- In case of discrepancies in the admit card, contact the CTET Unit immediately.
Instructions for Examination
- Candidates must report at 7:30 AM for Paper-II (Morning) and 12:30 PM for Paper-I (Evening) on February 08, 2026.
- Entry will not be permitted after 09:30 AM for Paper-II and 02:30 PM for Paper-I.
- Prohibited items include any stationery (except ballpoint pen), communication devices (mobile phones, Bluetooth, etc.), watches, wallets, goggles, handbags, gold/artificial ornaments, and any item that can be used for unfair means.
- Candidates must bring their own ballpoint pen (Black/Blue).
- Candidates are not allowed to leave their seat or the examination room until the full duration of the paper is over.
Unfair Means
Any candidate found indulging in activities such as using or attempting unfair means, communicating with other candidates, possessing prohibited items, impersonation, or misbehavior will be liable for cancellation of candidature and debarment from future examinations.
OMR Answer Sheet Instructions
- OMR sheets are placed inside the sealed Test Booklet and should be taken out only after the invigilator's announcement.
- Use a Blue/Black Ball Point Pen to darken circles. Pencils, ink/gel pens, and other colors are prohibited.
- Do not fold, tear, wrinkle, or staple the OMR sheet.
- Only one circle should be darkened for each question. Changing an answer using eraser or white fluid is not allowed and will lead to invalidation.
- Candidates must fill in Roll Number, Name, Father's Name, Centre Number, Name of Examination Centre, Subject offered (for Paper-II), Main Test Booklet Number, Language Supplement Booklet Number/Code, and Language attempted.
- Failure to follow OMR instructions will result in rejection of the OMR sheet.
Certificate and Mark Sheet
- CTET mark sheets and eligibility certificates will be provided in digital format via DigiLocker accounts.
- The documents will be digitally signed and legally valid, containing an encrypted QR Code for verification.
Grievances and Legal Jurisdiction
- No re-evaluation/re-checking of results will be entertained.
- OMR answer sheets and answer keys will be displayed on the official CTET website for a limited period, allowing candidates to challenge with a non-refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- per question.
- No grievance regarding answer keys will be entertained after the result declaration.
- All disputes related to CTET shall fall under the jurisdiction of Delhi only.
