RITES Ltd., a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Govt. of India, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of multiple engineering professionals on a contract basis.

Vacancy Details and Eligibility

All vacancies are specific to a particular region and discipline. Candidates must apply for only one vacancy (VC No.). The posts are for Assistant Manager across various engineering disciplines, requiring 02 years of minimum post-qualification work experience.

Discipline-wise Minimum Educational Qualifications (Full-time Bachelor's Degree required):

  • Civil: Civil Engineering.
  • Electrical: Electrical / Electronics / Power Supply / Instrumentation and Control / Industrial Electronics / Electronics & Instrumentation / Applied Electronics / Digital Electronics / Power Electronics Engineering or any combination thereof.
  • Signal & Telecommunication (S&T): Electrical / Electronics / Power Supply / Instrumentation and Control / Industrial Electronics / Electronics & Instrumentation / Applied Electronics / Digital Electronics / Power Electronics Engineering or any combination thereof.
  • Mechanical: Mechanical Engineering / Technology in Mechanical / Production / Production & Industrial Manufacturing / Mechanical / Railways / Mechatronics & Automobile or any combination thereof.
  • Metallurgy: Metallurgy Engineering.
  • Chemical: Engineering / Technology in Chemical / Petrochemical.
  • Information Technology (IT): Computer Engineering / Technology / Computer Science / Engineering in Computer Applications / Information Technology / Computer Science / Information Technology / Computer Applications or any combination thereof.
  • Food Technology: Food Technology / Biotechnology / Agriculture / Food Packaging or any combination thereof.
  • Pharma: Pharmacy.

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 40 years.
  • Age, experience, and all other eligibility criteria will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of the application (2025-12-25).

Educational Qualification and Experience Criteria

  • Candidates for unreserved posts (General/EWS) must have a first-class degree or minimum 60% marks in their Minimum Educational Qualification.
  • Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD) for reserved posts must have at least 50% marks.
  • Degrees must be recognized by AICTE from a University incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India, or deemed as a University under UGC Act, 1956. Sections A & B examination of the Institution of Engineers (India) is also accepted.
  • If percentage is not indicated on certificates, applicants must provide a conversion formula from CGPA/DGPA. If no formula is available, a minimum of 6 on a 10-point scale will be considered as 60% with an undertaking.
  • Note: The period of training (except on-the-job training), internship, teaching, academic, fellowship, or PhD research experience shall NOT be counted as part of experience.

Relaxations and Concessions

  • Reservation, relaxation, and concessions will be provided to EWS/SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD/Ex-SM/J&K Domicile candidates against reserved posts as per extant Government orders.
  • Relaxation in upper age limit for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST candidates against reserved posts.
  • PWD candidates with not less than 40% of the relevant disability are eligible for a 10-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

Selection Process

  • The selection process consists of a Written Test and an Interview.

a) Written Test:

  • 125 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, duration 2.5 hours.
  • No negative marking.
  • PwBD candidates will receive a compensatory time of 50 minutes.
  • Minimum 50% marks for UR/EWS candidates (45% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD against reserved posts) in the written test are required for further consideration.

b) Interview:

  • Candidates will be called for an interview in the ratio of 1:6 to the number of vacancies.
  • Weightage Distribution:
    • Written Test: 60%
    • Interview: 40% (Technical & Professional proficiency - 30%; Personality Communication & Competency – 10%)
  • Minimum 60% marks for UR/EWS (50% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PWD against reserved posts) in the interview are required for panel placement. No minimum qualifying marks are required in aggregate.
  • The selection process (written test or document verification or interview) may be conducted at RITES' Regional Offices.
  • Candidates have the option to appear for the selection process in either Hindi or English.

Nature & Period of Engagement:

  • Appointment is purely on a contract basis, initially for one year, extendable subject to performance and project requirements.
  • Empanelment against a vacancy does not guarantee selection or the right to the job; deployment is solely based on project requirements.

Remuneration

  • For Assistant Manager (all Disciplines):
    • Basic Pay: INR 23,340 per month
    • Gross Monthly CTC: INR 42,478
    • Annual CTC (Approx.): INR 5,09,741
  • Remuneration is indicative; actual remuneration will depend on the place of posting and other terms & conditions of appointment.

Application Fees

  • General/OBC Candidates: Rs. 600/- plus Taxes as applicable
  • EWS/SC/ST/PWD Candidates: Rs. 300/- plus Taxes as applicable
  • The fee charged from SC/ST/PWD candidates will be refunded upon their participation in the written exam/interview, after deduction of GST/bank charges.

How to Apply

  2. Upon online application submission, a 'Registration No.' will be generated, which candidates must note for future communication.
  3. Carefully and correctly fill all required details in the application form.
  4. Upload all necessary documents under the "Upload Document" section. Scanned copies must be clear and visible. Failure to upload required documents may lead to cancellation of candidature.
  5. After uploading documents, proceed to make the online fee payment. Applications without successful fee payment will be summarily rejected. Download and retain a copy of the final application form.

Documents to Upload

  • High School Certificate (proof of Date of Birth)
  • Certificates of Academic & Professional qualifications along with mark sheets of all semesters/years (Xth, XIIth, Diploma/Graduation/Post-Graduation)
  • Percentage Conversion Document (if applicable)
  • EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Certificate (in the prescribed format, if applicable)
  • Proof of Identity & Address (Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, etc.)
  • PAN Card
  • Proof of each period of experience claimed in the Application Form (e.g., offer letter, joining order, relieving letter, service certificate, relevant pay slips, etc.)
  • Any other document in support of candidature and claims.

Reservation Certificates

  • SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates must furnish Caste Certificates from competent authorities as per Annexure I (SC/ST) and Annexure II (OBC-NCL), valid as on the last date for application submission.
  • OBC-NCL candidates must belong to the Non-Creamy Layer; a declaration (Annexure III) is required during document verification. Certificates should not be older than one year.
  • EWS candidates must possess an Income and Asset Certificate as per Government of India format, valid as on the crucial date.
  • Hard copies of documents are NOT to be sent to RITES' office via post/courier.

Written Test Venues

  • The written test will be conducted on 2026-01-11 (Sunday) at tentative venues including Delhi/Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bhilai, Chennai, Patna, and Lucknow.
  • Exact date, time, and details of the venue for selection will be communicated separately.

Syllabus for Written Test (Annexure A)

Total 125 Questions

  • Quantitative Aptitude (around 35 Questions): Number system, arithmetic, geometry, algebra, series, trigonometry, quadratic equations, mensuration, average, profit loss, ratio and proportion, work time, time & distance, probability, simple and compound interest, permutation and combination.
  • Data Interpretation (around 35 Questions): Analysis and interpretation of data presented in various formats like tables, charts, graphs, and series.
  • Logical Reasoning (around 35 Questions): Problem-solving skills, logical thinking, drawing conclusions from given information, puzzles, seating arrangements, inequalities, Venn diagrams, blood relations, directions, orders & ranking, verbal reasoning, spatial abilities, pattern recognition.
  • Basic Awareness/General Knowledge (around 20 Questions): Current Affairs (National and International events, sports, awards, recent developments) and Static GK (Indian History, geography, polity, economy and culture, general science, and miscellaneous).

  • Departmental candidates of RITES and candidates from Government Departments/PSUs/Private organizations can join RITES only after being properly relieved from their parent organization.

  • The date of acquiring the qualification will be the earliest of the last day of the month of the final examination, date of declaration of result, date of issuance of marksheet, or date of issuance of degree. No relaxation will be provided.
  • If a specialization is required in the educational qualification, candidates must submit a certificate from the University/Institution clearly specifying the specialization.
