Appeal Procedure for Assistant Loco Pilot Medical Unfit Candidates

This notice is issued by the Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur, concerning candidates who have been found medically unfit for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) under CEN No-01/2024.

Overview

Following Document Verification and Medical Examination at Railway Hospitals, certain candidates for Assistant Loco Pilot under CEN No-01/2024 have been declared medically unfit in the prescribed category, specifically "Unfit for Aye One." As per instructions contained in Railway Board's letter No.2014/H/5/8/(Policy) dated 07.07.2017, these candidates are eligible to submit an appeal.

Appeal Deadline

Candidates must submit their appeal by 2026-01-08.

Appeal Procedure

Candidates wishing to appeal against the medical committee's decision must submit their appeal within 30 days from the date of issue of this notice, with due justification. The appeal should be addressed to the Principal Chief Medical Director, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, but must be submitted through the Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, Gorakhpur. The appeal should reach the following address by Speed Post or delivered by hand on any working day:

Required Documents for Appeal

To ensure the appeal is entertained, candidates must include the following three documents along with their appeal:

  • Appeal Letter (Annexure-B): A duly signed appeal with justifications from the candidate, indicating their Roll No., Registration No., and date of Document Verification.
  • Medical Certificate (Annexure-A): This certificate must be issued by a Government/Private specialist in the relevant speciality where the candidate was found unfit. The certificate must contain a note stating that:
    • The Government/Private Specialist is fully aware of the physical and visual standards set by the Railways for the particular medical category.
    • The specialist is aware that the candidate has already been declared unfit according to these standards during a medical examination conducted by an appropriate medical board comprising three Senior Railway Doctors appointed by the Government.
    • The certificate must bear the candidate's photograph and marks of identification, duly attested by the issuing authority. The issuing authority must also clearly mention their full name, designation, address, and Medical Council of India/State registration number.
  • Demand Draft: A Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) in favour of FA & CAO, North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur.
