Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age. The crucial date for determining the age limit is the last date of receipt of application.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
- Person with Benchmark Disability: 10 years (15 years for SC/ST, 13 years for OBC)
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Resultant age after deducting service period should not exceed prescribed age limit by more than 3 years.
- Departmental Candidates (Central Govt. with 3 years continuous service): Up to 40 years of age (45 years for SC/ST).
- Widows, divorced women, and women judicially separated: Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST members).
Educational Qualification
The essential educational qualification for most highly skilled and skilled posts generally requires:
- Pass in 10+2 with a certificate from a recognized Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the respective trade or grade. OR
- Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade and minimum at grade 1.
Specific requirements for certain posts are:
- Telephone Operator Grade-II: Matriculation or equivalent with English as a compulsory subject and proficiency in handling PBX Board.
- Lower Division Clerk/Storekeeper: Pass in 12th class from a recognized Board or University. Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.
- Fireman: Matriculation pass or equivalent, conversant with use and maintenance of fire fighting equipment and appliances, and physically fit.
- Cook: Matriculation pass or equivalent, knowledge of Indian Cooking and proficiency in trade.
- Tradesman Mate/Washerman: Matriculation pass from recognized Board or equivalent.
- Engineering Equipment Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II): 10+2 with ITI in Motor Mechanic trade; OR B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; OR Armed Forces Personnel or Ex-servicemen from appropriate trade and minimum at grade 1.
Desirable qualifications for most trades include a National Council for Training in the Vocational Trades certificate from Directorate General of Employment and Training, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Pay Scale (As per 7th Central Pay Commission)
- Pay Matrix Level 4 (Rs. 5200-20200, Grade Pay Rs. 2400/-): For posts like Electrician (Highly Skilled-II), Vehicle Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II), Telecom Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II), and Engineer Equipment Mechanic (Highly Skilled-II).
- Pay Matrix Level 3 (Rs. 5200-20200, Grade Pay Rs. 2000/-): For Telephone Operator Grade-II.
- Pay Matrix Level 2 (Rs. 5200-20200, Grade Pay Rs. 1900/-): For posts like Machinist (Skilled), Fitter (Skilled), Upholster (Skilled), Welder (Skilled), Tin and Copper Smith (Skilled), Storekeeper, Lower Division Clerk, Fireman, and Cook.
- Pay Matrix Level 1 (Rs. 5200-20200, Grade Pay Rs. 1800/-): For Tradesman Mate and Washerman.
Physical Measurements/Fitness Test (For Fireman only)
Minimum Physical Measurements
- Height (without shoes): 165 cms (concession of 2.5 cms for Scheduled Tribes).
- Chest (Un-expanded): 81.5 cms
- Chest (on-expansion): 85 cms
- Weight: 50 Kg (minimum)
Fitness/Endurance Test
- Carrying a man (Fireman lift of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds).
- Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (Long jumps).
- Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.
How to Apply
- Candidates must forward their application, duly typed on A4 size paper as per the prescribed format given in the advertisement.
- Applications must be sent along with a self-addressed envelope (size 10.5 cm x 25 cm) with a postal stamp of Rs. 5/-.
- Send applications through ORDINARY POST to the address mentioned against the specific post applied for.
- Superscribe the envelope with "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ", specifying the post name.
- Candidates must ensure that a valid E-mail ID and Aadhaar linked Telephone number are mentioned in the application form.
- Last Date for Receipt of Application:
- 21 days (including Sundays and holidays) from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News for most areas.
- 28 days (including Sundays and holidays) for residents of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu & Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti Districts, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
- The first date of this advertisement in "Employment News" (October 4, 2025) will be taken into account for calculating these periods. If the closing date falls on a holiday, the next working day will be the closing date.
- Candidates are allowed to apply for only one trade at one location. Applications once submitted cannot be modified. No applications will be received by hand.
Examination Details
- Written Test: Will be offline (Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) based) and "Objective Type" for 150 marks with Negative Marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. Candidates should bring their pen, pencil, and clipboard.
- Duration: Two hours.
- Language: Question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
- Syllabus: In accordance with the minimum qualification prescribed for each post. The syllabus typically covers:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
- General Awareness
- General English
- Numerical Aptitude
- Trade Specific (for relevant posts)
Selection Process
- A written test will be conducted for all trades. The selection committee may fix minimum qualifying marks.
- Skill test and Physical test (wherever applicable) will be conducted for candidates who pass the written test and come in merit.
- Skill test and Physical test will be qualifying in nature. Candidates who fail these tests will not be eligible for selection.
- There will be no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores. The decision of the appointing authority regarding selection/rejection will be final.
- No Transportation Allowance/Dearness Allowance will be admissible for attending the examination/tests.
Documents Required
Provisionally selected candidates must produce original and photocopy of the following self-attested documents on the date and time intimated by the recruiting establishment:
- Matriculation certificate/Municipality Birth certificate (for date of birth).
- Aadhaar Card.
- Mark Sheet of the educational qualification mentioned against the post applied for.
- Any certificate for the desirable qualification.
- SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer for OBC)/EWS or any other reservation certificate, if applicable.
- Physically handicapped certificate showing 40% and above disability, issued by competent authority.
- Discharge certificate (in case of Ex-serviceman).
- NOC in original from their present employer (for Government servants including serving Armed Forces Personnel).
- Certified copy of judgment/degree of the appropriate court to prove divorce or judicial separation (for Widows, divorced women, and judicially separated women).
- Address proof (Passport/Ration Card/Voter Card/Driving License).
Important Points
- Candidates on selection are liable to be transferred anywhere across India, including field services liability.
- The number of vacancies is subject to change. The employer reserves the right to cancel or modify the notification without assigning any reason.
- Examination centers for some units (Quality Control Engineer, Detachment Base Workshop Group (Quality) COD Agra, UP-282001 and Station Workshop EME, Delhi Cantt) are specified, while for others, the postal address given in the advertisement (Column (a) of Paragraph 1) will be the examination center.
- Incomplete/illegible applications, or those without the correct advertisement reference number, will be deemed invalid and rejected without intimation.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify candidature.
- Candidates are responsible for providing factually correct data and documents. Providing incorrect data or fake documents will lead to automatic rejection.
- Capturing of Bio-metric details will be done on the first day of documents verification and subsequently for written/skill/physical tests.
